Just over 6 months away, this looms as one of the biggest sporting events Australia has ever hosted.
From what we saw in Fed Square, etc, there's a ground swell of support for the national teams - and that was just to watch the games on the big screen.
Given that we're co-hosting the tournament, I can't imagine how massive it's going to be.

Support for the 2015 Asian Cup was a lot bigger than anyone expected and we saw the massive crowds England got for the Euros they just hosted.

What the guys just did in Qatar was amazing, but this tournament threatens to take it to the next level and then some, especially for women's sport.

The play-off draw took place on 14 October 2022, 12:00 CEST (UTC+2), in Zürich, Switzerland.[5][6] Four teams were seeded into groups based on the FIFA Women's World Rankings of 13 October 2022 (shown in parentheses),[7] with a maximum of one seeded team per confederation. The highest-ranked team was placed in slot A1, the second-highest in slot B1, the third-highest in slot C1 and the fourth-highest in slot C2. In the draw, the six unseeded teams were allocated to the first available group sequentially (from A to C, before repeating). After a team was selected, a separate draw then determined the team's position within their respective group for the purposes of the schedule.[9]

Pretty impressive warm up performance I thought. Passing was good, some of the build up stuff was great, just needed a better final ball or to pull the trigger sooner.

Raso clearly BOG, Fowler was great when she came on.

Can’t wait for the tournament to start, it’s going to be great entertainment and wall to wall games.

As long as you've got world class attacking players like Kerr in the side, we're a chance against anyone.

First half was the complete opposite to this, in my view.

For mine, attending the game, I felt Australia really struggled to keep possession of the ball in the first half and despite playing 4-4-2, Kerr was isolated up front.

To his credit, Gustavsson made some changes at half time and the team regained some cohesion.

Pleased that Fowler scored. We won't do much in the world cup if opponents just sit on Kerr and we can't find alternate avenues to goal. We need other forwards to get dangerous and score goals.

Carpenter in particular looked pretty rusty and was lucky not to give away a goal with some sloppy passing and being caught out of position.
