He may be only 16th in the Coleman but he's got the same average of goals per game as Hawkins who sits in 2nd with 50 goals. Goes to show where he could be if he played the full year.

That too, I genuinely think with a full season he finishes top 5 again with ease, maybe even top 3.
Also a big suck shit to anyone who says he's not a good forward.

It may be my dream that matt taberner does this celebration at least once in his career.
The swagger after he kicked his third to go up to McGovern and let him know how crap he is.
He seems to make Barrass his play thing, that they have to take out their forward and put Oscar Allen on him after the first.
Imagine if we have someone like Lobb.. goddamn they haven’t been there much this season.

Actually McKay, Walker, Franklin and Greene have a better average then Taberner this year. Still a pretty good effort.
Obviously just had the one big quarter in the derby but having now watched the replay Tabs was great at other times i.e. big mark over Nic Nat, passing off to Cerra for a goal, forcing the contest, recovered and handballed off to Colyer for his running goal at a crucial time. Even seemed a bit fired up and physical at times.

While a lot of focus goes onto the WC's efforts, from later in the 2nd through to early in the 4th, it'd also be possible that Freo switch from attacking to a more controlling, clogging, slower mode to limit their opponents' ability to rush the scoreboard once they'd built up a sizeable lead. This would make it harder for Taberner to score, but increase his involvements further upfield.
