Cheap shot

As someone who knows Nick and Family really well, think pretty cheap shots a lot of you fans, especially Brisbane are having at his expense.

Nick ,hasn't said anything about those guys should be reported and so what if he shows emotion.

Give the young guy a break, he is great guy and will be best saint player for next 10 years.

Is that you, Suzi?

Look its bad taste, and no-one expects the Saints to laugh, but its a funny post in a mean sort of a way. I think its more of a dig at the Saints for their high expectations this year than an attack on Reiwoldt's character.

I hope Riewoldt comes back bigger and better later this year.

Damn straight.

Although Nick should console himself with the soothing words of Michael Stipe:

'...Everybody hurts ... sometimes...'

:)

Sure you can consider it smart - but where do you draw the line?

The rules (or laws) of the game - why are they there?

Look at the Voss hit on Riewoldt (a legal one) - hard and clearly hurt him.
This is good footy.

Look at the Charman hit on Riewoldt (not a legal one) - ran at Riewoldt who was in the air in a marking contest. Charman never saw the ball - he can't have as he was facing Riewoldt the whole time. Then he jumped directly into Riewoldt probably breaking his collarbone. Riewoldt was clearly hurt but within 20 or 30 seconds the ball came back into Riewoldt's zone so he went for the mark. This was when it became apparent how badly hurt he was.

Look at the Michael hit on Riewoldt. This was behind play (and admittedly after most of the damage had already been done) and was intended to cause pain and further injury.

Look at the Scott hit on Riewoldt. Chris Scott ran from over 50m away to take a cheap hit on Riewoldt. He came from Riewoldt's blind side and struck him with more force than either of Mal Michael's bumps. This was behind play and was intended to cause pain and further injury.

I draw the line at the Voss hit. It was tough but fair.

The remaining hits were all illegal to some degree but the two late ones to a lesser degree.

The Charman hit should see him on holidays for a while.

And the Riewoldt tears should see the captaincy go to Luke Ball.

You must be kidding. Why don't we just make AFL a non contract sport? That bump was 100% legitimate and legal, how was it not?

Please explain.

Nick Riewoldt was in a marking contest, as he leapt into the air, Charman who had been running towards th contest from the same direction that the ball was coming from, leapt into Riewoldt.

Charman's eyes were never for the bal once. He never even saw the ball once. His only intent was a CHARGE at Riewoldt. He hit riewoldt high (collarbone region) with great force. Riewoldt was in considerable anguish after the incident and I believe that his collarbone was broken then.

20 or 30 seconds later the ball came back into the Riewoldt zone and he bravely attempted to mark it, despite the broken collarbone.

The marking attempt displayed to all that Riewoldt was seriously injured, but it was CHARMAN who caused the problem with his deliberate CHARGE.

So you're suggesting Riewoldts collar bone was already damaged before he went for the slip mark?

Interesting.

Or 3-4 minutes earlier than that, Riewoldt was spoiled by White and flung himself forward whilst in the air, chasing a free kick and didn't land too softly.

Maybe St Nick hurt himself do a Lloyd.

Of course, discount this because you can't stand actually opening your eyes, the light has a blinding effect.
