It was an incredible unexpected win, the spinners bowled so well, and to knock off a team everyone dislikes makes it even better.

But enough about the Scorchies women beating the Stars tonight, what about those Kiwis?

Scorchers women? I get why they had their junior 'Fan Day' yesterday now!

Didn't fall for that. rather take the son to watch to watch the record setting men's one day side. As a bonus in and out faster than a 20-20 anyway.

Is the love for Bazball turning?

Yesterdays Sunday Times had a number of telling articles.

Sport Section - P2 - Chief cricket writer Simon Wilde article headed 'Stokes must regain belief as Bazball hits crossroads'.

And on P3 Alastair Cook wrote an article that talked about England batting...
'Most England batsmen lack the background or the technique for dogged defence'.
He then discussed Ben Duckett specifically.
'when he got out leg before, trying to defend in the second innings, it was like watching a tailender with the position he got himself into.'
Basically argues that England have now got themselves in a position where they are so bad at defence, they have to attack. Even when it costs matches.

odd circumstances. Konstas not there long enough to determine how he looked. Bancroft there long enough to obviously look scratchy, but then given out on one off his thighpad.

I hope McSweeney goes big (or bigger) than anyone else today. Keen to see how he goes at international level.

He seems to be in the best form of the various contenders, but…. he’s not an opener and I don’t think he ever has been. Batting in a new spot in the order against India is a hell of a trial by fire.

Oh God, they're going to go with Harris aren't they?
He scored 17x the amount of runs that Konstas and Bancroft got today.

Honestly I don't think you can pick any of these openers. They are probably going to have to turn Marnus or Travis into openers and then promote a middle order batsman that is actually in form.

I wouldn't be upset if that accommodated Beau Webster into the team.

It’s his undoing but I also feel sorry for Bangers after how good he was for such decent period of time and yet got overlooked. I wonder how demoralising that would be. Hopefully for him and WA’s sake he can regain that form
