Is it me or has our summer sorta shorned over the years? Growing up it felt like Australia still played at home in feb and this year they’re off to Sri Lanka in Jan.

Another aspect of having a longer summer would be helping improve the standard of BBL having the Aussie test stars play the back end. Then have an ODi/T20 series after I guess

T20 cricket, especially the IPL and the BBL when focusing on our cricket summer, has reduced the window for international cricket

It’s virtually killed ODIs as part of our summer

And it’s only going to get worse

Missed the late carnage this afternoon and just watched the last few overs on replay

Aside from the tumbling wickets, how good was Sam Konstas having a fat time out in the field winding up the crowd. So good to see a young guy enjoying himself

And in typical Aussie style, we get the "He's getting ahead of himself".

Need Lyon to start having an impact with the ball. Hasn’t been required to do much on pace friendly wickets but when he has bowled he’s not been threatening

This will be another draw

Wickets falling due to batsman error rather than bowlers getting much out of a pitch that’s showing no signs of deteriorating to any great extent

Yep, another boxing day snooze on the MCG road. Groundskeeper has to do better.

Let's hope the rain stays away from SCG so we can actually get a result. Three draws in row would be a pretty boring ending to a series that was looking pretty unpredictable.

To be fair, this hasn’t been a good series for spinners. India’s spinners have bowled 96 overs and taken 7/324, so a better average but also more expensive. Pretty hard to judge whether Lyon has been bad or if the wickets are just not offering anything to the spinners.

I’m glad he got it. Would’ve been brutal to end up on 99* and miss out on your first test century largely because your teammate stuffed up and ran 2 on the last ball of the over.
Incredible how elated the crowd and players were when he got 100 despite being so far behind in the game. Bizarre sport sometimes. But great nonetheless
