I lot of them come down to confidence and pressure. Our boys confidence is right down and Freo are one of the best pressure teams we have played. Robert Murphy recently said that Freo brings more defensive pressure then any team he has ever played against. Their pressure was awesome, all over the ground. Notice how our guys had no time when in possession. We just couldn't get our game going, they simply didn't allow us the space. It was made worse with our best extractor out. I can't really blame them for the hack out of a contest in this game but geez just try and take a glance in the direction you're about to kick it

Here's your answer mate;

We console ourselves that we won the contested ball count, when blind freddy can see opposition teams allow us to have 3-4 extra players in tight to win the contest. They drop the extra players back to pick off our 'clearance' and then spank our rrrs on the rebound. Our possessions are hence in tight and contested while theirs are out in the open and damaging.

Need players to have the discipline to do the maths and back out of the contest and man up to give us a chance of at least bringing the ball to ground or force a throw in on our clearances. ATM we'd do better to lose he clearances as our defenders at least get to go one-out against their opponents.

My 2 cents. Couldn't agree with pykie any more.
