Definitely would have been the fairest outcome - declare the result null and void given the incorrect final score and replay the entire game in the pre-finals bye week. Still sh&$ for us if we lost the replay given we‘d have most likely won the original game, but infinitely better to have been given a second chance compared to the AFL just shrugging their shoulders and saying it was an unfortunate mistake.
Yes this is absolutely right..better to still have that chance than what we have been forced to swallow now and thats no chance at all

Let's be realistic, yes the huff and puff of pressing for that would be great theatre.

But it would never happen.

The failure here is one bad umpire call. The AFL will not replay the game or the last 70 seconds due to incompetent umpiring.

Even the tweak they made this week is the exact same process/ system. Goal umpires calling for a review for every close one.

Which is what Daniel Hoskin should have done.

A week to late for us

**** 70 seconds, demand a whole game. You might be able to get an ally in the broadcasters / media with that, because they make money.

Just declaring that you'll never get something without ever actually trying for it is what our club did do. And the result is we got the worst possible result.

And now there is no more grey area on us making finals or not had they not screwed us..said Olsen and Silvers had better be leaving no stone unturned and no threat left in the locker for something far more meaningful than a 'sorry, it was a goal' and some fixturing issues that we would have had redressed next season anyway

No stone unturned for what though?

The demands that they're making won't bring us closer to a premiership. They're demands that make administrators look good. Fixturing to get the crowds up please?

We’re in the finals 👏 👏- 👏👏👏

Oh.

Yeah, that’s right 😩
It's now official the Swans are the most undeserving finalist. Couldn't even win the McCartin allowed to play despite breaking McAdam's cheekbone.

The AFL must be pleased the highest scoring side has been robbed of playing finals.

Olsen better manage to extract decent compensation now It's proved to be the difference.

But the 2012 Prelim Final between Hawthorn and Adelaide is a good example of what I mean. Plenty of noise at the G for the Crows that day. You guys had good support at the ground. Had we met on Grand Final day, the crowd support for both teams would've been even closer.
The 2012 Prelim Final between Hawthorn and Adelaide is a good example of absolute robbery from the umpires.

Four quarters of things like Franklin putting Rutter in a headlock and getting a free kick.

What a load of crapola....
Have you ever been to a Grand Final, mate?

I've been to 25 of them since 1990

I think I know what I'm talking about.

Interstate travel aside, in terms of noise for both teams, they're about as "neutral" as any AFL final gets.

I would bet they tried. Probably the first thing asked Saturday night.

Also sets a bad precedent. Next time there is a howler like the Dawson v Collingwood one, replay the game....

Replaying the game or portion of the game is just a ridiculous expectation.

I’ve been to about 500 AFL games. Therefore I should have been appointed as the new Gold Coast coach.

The main compensation I feel we should get is the player bonus for making Finals and the cash the club misses out on.

You are correct, we earnt a better fixture and should just get it.

Push for list concessions with the cat B boys as well. Has been granted to others (list concessions) and we now have one of the longest non finals streaks and one of the longest premiership streaks

And they stole our biggest need with priority to GC. Our midfield would be complete with Anderson running around right now

It's a legit question, I ask

Some of you guys don't seem to comprehend what I'm saying about Grand Finals
I suspect you're just basing your opinions on what you see on TV. If you'd been to a few GF's, then you would know.

I don't really give a sh*t. It's just funny to me that you're arguing with me about it and saying "what a load of crap!"
I'm just telling you how it is. But you guys can think whatever you like. No skin off my nose. :D

See ya, guys. Good luck next year. You've got a good team. Rachele looks like a beauty.:thumbsu:

You actually believe the noise at the 17 grand final was neutral?

I cannot see how we will be given list concessions that set us apart from the other clubs. Our compo will almost certainly be purely financial. I'm even wondering about our schedule being not even improved based upon our watchability because the AFL won't want it to look like other clubs have missed out on what they deserve.

It’s funny to you that you come to another team’s board, talk **** and some people post back?

I’ve been to a few. Including the 2017 Grand Final, where even the ground announcer was barracking for the Tigers.

The very same ground announcer who was taking a cut of the $500 I’d paid to be there as a Crows fan. What a joke.

On topic, have you ever travelled for work? Were you at your best compared to how you go simply waking up in your own bed?

Hahahhahaha Gil the knob spoke to a Swans player who said he thought it hit the post. No shat that’s what he thought you muppet.

"I’ll reiterate this. I’ve spoken to the Swans... Jake Lloyd was underneath the post and thought it had hit the post…”
What about just sticking to the facts Gil.
There is proof the ball didn't touch the post.

Fancy asking the oppo for an honest commentary. Did he speak with Lachie Murphy? He was just there as well!

Everything about this outcome is corrupt. AFL and particularly Gil should never again be welcome to an AFC match. Ban them! It's our ground.

Lol, I gather you were drinking heaps if you think grand final noise is neutral where a non-victorian team is playing...

You actually believe the noise at the 17 grand final was neutral?
No, I didn't say that

I already said the 2017 Granny was a bit of an exception because the long-suffering Tiger Army was at it's most feral and many of their fans were going to great lengths to secure themselves a ticket.

But in general, when it's a Vic team vs Eagles, Dockers, Crows, Power, Lions or Swans then the Grand Final atmosphere is more neutral than any final played at non-Victorian venues. It's not the one-sided cauldron that some of you seem to think. Lotta lotta neutrals there in attendance.. Same number of club members from each team sitting up in the nosebleeds.... Maybe not 50-50 all around the ground... Obviosuly there is a bias towards the Victorian team, but you get FAR MORE parochial crowds for the lead-up fnals in Perth, Sydney or Adelaide.

It's just a fact. I'm not sure why it's so hard for any of you to believe.
Most club members miss out on getting a Grand Final ticket. It's very corporate. Lots of "theatre goers"

I could be such better in My eyes, how about giving us band 1 when Doedee or Crouch leave instead of some hack like Mackay. That’s the compensation I want
