Left at half time with the AFL Listers up by about 5 goals. At quarter time they were 3 goals each with the VFL guys only a point behind but the wind increasing and better skills with the fitter AFL crew proving pivotal.
Felt like Australia vs. Australia A in the ODI series and I was going for Australia A again.
The VFL guys were pretty good to be honest. They had more leg speed and decent hands in close. They play on a bit which suits them. Numbers 33 and 29 in the midfield were tough and fast.

Of the AFL guys, Cooper and Drury were smart and neat with the disposal. RHJ had a couple of flashes and adds a point of difference as Drury, Lowson and Harvey are all reasonably similar players.
Goad was ok in the ruck but Free was too strong which was to be expected. Sellars looked good on Liebert.

Chom was pretty ineffective when the ball went down there, turned the pill over a couple of times. Biggy did a lovely dash out of defence and nailed a lovely pass but wasn't a huge presence. Dawson down back meant it looked like Jurassic Park with the three big talls and the VFL guys exploited this.

Phillips tried but was not a standout. George was ok and Greenwood was probably best of the AFL crew with Taylor, Lmac and Archer being pretty quiet too.

Finally home getting ready for the big dance...20 goals AFL to VFL 6 goals lopsided scoreline in the end...solid hit out to finish for the boys...will Phil was a standout getting down n dirty. He was in everything. Tackled hard and often. Other standouts were Harvey. Sellers Greenwood...Hardeman great gut running.racked em up on the wing and hback.. Curtis Taylor got better as the game wore on solid contributor.chom George biggy Lukeymac and co controlled the back half. And rebounded quickly at every opportunity..choms closing speed to get the spoil or intercept mark.was exceptional.. biggy got winded late and went off.but seemed ok.Young arch was solid and attacked the ball in the usual archer aggression. Good finish to the preseason.now for the real stuff...Go roos
