1. As a GA member, I still get entry to the game if public General Admission tickets sell out yeah?

2.I have only sat up the eastern end of GA with plenty of opp supporters, mainly because the big screen at western end is diagonally across the ground. If I sit in GA at the western end (gate 2 ) can you see the big screen at the other end (on the same side) of the ground?
Speaking of General Admission tickets, it currently says on Ticketmaster that they are 'not available at this time'. Does this mean that they are sold out, or will they go on sale again at some point in the near future? Been trying to purchase some since Wednesday night. Thanks.

Yes, I heard last night that general admission tickets for the Blues game are sold out.

Just ended up getting reserved seating up in the top tier, behind the goals, fourth row back.

Thanks Kerry :)

I was wondering how big the difference between AFL and the state leagues is. If the AFL is 10 I would think the state leagues could be anywhere between 4-7.5ish. What do other people think the difference is?

Re the draw and our request for who where when etc....

Since we have the agreement that there are 11 games at the gabba and as many games as possible in Melb but a minimum of six ... does that mean that we ask for ...

11 gabba
1 metricon
1 perth
1 adelaide
8 melb

each year and end up with what we get (eg 4) or am I missing a bunch of things here?

I suppose I am wondering *how* we end up with so few games in Melb a bit ... (and kind of tired)

Because we're a pretty low drawing club so the AFL farms out our Melbourne games to Geelong and to Launceston and to Darwin (this year). You also missed a Sydney game in there, so that's seven max.

(edit - just saw dlanod had answered the question before me)

You missed 1 game in Sydney at least.

But the bottom line is we get what we get in Melbourne because it is a residual and is not factored into the AFL's draw unlike the countless other things put into the equation despite the legal agreement that suggests otherwise.

This year the direct reasons are: 1 game in Geelong; 1 game in Tasmania vs. Hawthorn; and 1 game in Darwin vs. Melbourne.

That brings the 7 game starting point down to 4.

If I was a millionaire and had money to burn I would back a Supreme Court case by Fitzroy Football Club (or Brisbane but that is even less likely) against the AFL on this issue. To a lay person it seems like the AFL are in clear breach of their legal obligations.

If I was a millionaire with money to burn I would buy the club better facilities, not chase them around a court.

It is the AFL that would be on the other end of that case not the Brisbane Lions.

You might not care about how many games Lions fans get to see in Melbourne. I on the other hand am part of a family of four generations of Lions supporters in Melbourne. My Grandma's funeral casket last year had Brisbane Lions and Fitzroy jumpers drapped over it.

The Lions are in my blood - I care very deeply because of that. Without live games to see, the Lions support in Melbourne will die out. How can you tell a kid to support a team that you can only see 4 times a year live when all the other kids get to see their teams 12 to 15 times.

Maybe that doesn't mean anything to you, but it means a hell of a lot to me. That is why 6 games is so important - you can just maintain an ongoing supporter base with 6 live games a year, but I don't think you can with 4.

In the video they showed of BT - what would happen to a player today who raised his fist at an umpire and stalked threateningly towards them while verbally abusing them then threw a ball into another teams player etc?
BT was absolved back then due to being subconsciously influenced by Basil Fawlty.

Is coming from 52 points down to win the biggest comeback there has been in VFL / AFL history from a team in terms of being that far down in the third quarter of a match?

Put another way, has any other team ever been behind by more than 52 points in the third quarter and gone on to win?

I know it is the equal eighth greathest comeback of all time, and I know Brisbane (Bears) have the greatest comeback from a 3/4 time margin (in the legendary Dunstall 'take the players into the shade' game in 1995), but what about from within the third quarter?

In fact the Bears may have been down by 52 points just before 3/4 time in that match if I remember correctly.

..same here........is there a way the post can be transferred over to review thread and replied to there?...or something like that anyway.

Bit of effort but you could just copy what the person has said, find another post they have made where the thread is open and click reply and then paste whatever you want to reply to.

Or, you can just link to it rather than directly quote it.

- click on the post number (next to the like button).
- copy the URL
- make relevant comments about the post/hurl insults like no tomorrow

For example:
MacMum wanted to know how to quote from a locked thread here.

You can also put it in quotes with no link to them:

Use the usual quote tags with the username also in them - [ quote = username ] text [ / quote] without the spaces. Remember to tag the poster if you want them to see it too, like this MacMum Gibbo_88.

Hope that saves a little time.
