Team Captain
Brown used to roll the ball back from the mark when he was about to take a shot on goal. Umpires won't call play on if it's obvious they're not playing on, but against GWS I saw a player throw the ball to a team mate as he was going back to take a shot on goal, which I thought was risky. 1 in 100 times the ump might confuse that as an attempt to play on.
Reading through the thread I was reminded of the same thing. If memory serves I believe one M. Voss used to do this as well in his latter years, and I know this sounds ridiculous but I could have sworn that one day he'd taken a mark inside 50, ended up on the ground and HANDBALLED the ball along the ground about 4 metres before getting up and retrieving to take the kick. Aura.
