Not really the American hero his followers purport him to be. Quite the coward, actually.I see Trump has pulled out of the second debate just as most of us expected.

The justification apparently is because he's suing ABC and the main moderator for calling him a rapist, even though he agreed to debate Biden on the network previously.I see Trump has pulled out of the second debate just as most of us expected.
Bit hard when the whole city shits and pisses into it. Is the Yarra fit for a similar event? Like others have said just picked the wrong venue. That's almost the most ridiculous part of it all.
The French population have a right to be absolutely incredulous at this.
That's the point though. I understand why they would've wanted to use it but 1.5 billion and it's still clearly unsafe. Just pick a different location for gods sake.Bit hard when the whole city shits and pisses into it. Is the Yarra fit for a similar event? Like others have said just picked the wrong venue.
Outside of that, I've really enjoyed this Olympics.
The time zone is pretty shit but there's something on during our nights.
Yes, who cares about trying to clean up a river... They should be incredulous at themselves for making it a sewer. That's almost the most ridiculous part of it all.

What is up with the Pole Vault this year.....
It's been ****ed for how long? And straight after the Olympics is done, it'll go straight back to being ****ed.Yes, who cares about trying to clean up a river... They should be incredulous at themselves for making it a sewer.

Or... or... it won't? That's the idea behind spending the money. And who cares if it's been ****ed for a long period of time, it's about time we took care of the places we live in, especially water ways. It's been ****ed for how long? There's not a business case on earth that could justify 1.5 billion spent on what they've just tried to do.
What do you mean it won't? They've barely got it sorted for this Olympics.Or... or... it won't? That's the idea behind spending the money. And who cares if it's been ****ed for a long period of time, it's about time we took care of the places we live in, especially water ways.
Barely sorted it? Have you been to the Seine? They've gone from it smelling like a festering dump to being able to swim in it. That's an incredible achievement and it's not fully done yet. What do you mean it won't? They've barely got it sorted for this Olympics.
Who cares? You think pissing a billion dollars away on a pipe dream is a good use of resources? Thank **** you're not in charge of allocating finances on a large scale.
Did Paris build any new stadiums? Genuine question I assume not and hence why they did opening ceremony the way they didBarely sorted it? Have you been to the Seine? Who cares about water hey? It's only what we need to drink and feed plants. Lets just throw our shit into it and be done. Meanwhile let's spend public finances on vanity projects like stadiums.
They built a new aquatics centre for the diving/water polo and a new indoor arena. The rest were renovated, temporary or existing. Stade De France would have held the opening ceremony like normal but that was being used for the Rugby 7's and then the athletics.Did Paris build any new stadiums? Why do you bother posting obvious false information? So boring, regurgitating muck rag information that is made up. Just go away. As for the Seine, it could be used for such but given that it's 50% H2O and 50% Nitrogen, bit difficult to use. Not surprising that someone who thinks everything is woke wouldn't care about the environment and call cleaning a river a vanity project. Maybe we should switch the pipes in your house and see how you like shit spewing out the tap. It's admirable that rivers are cleaned up but the Seine has got nothing to do with drinking water and feeding plants. The €1.4bn spend was about a vanity project for the Paris games.
Even after spending all that money they had to pick days when it was safe to swim. You are always going to get urban runoff after it rains that brings the risk of E. coli contamination. The much publicised swim by the Paris mayor was postponed twice due to the pollution levels. The men's triathlon was delayed due to health concerns. The Belgian team had to pull out of the mixed triathlon due to Claire Michel being hospitalised with an E. coli infection.
There's plenty of beautiful lakes and coastal areas in France that have clean water where the event could have been held, and might have given an economic benefit to those areas.
