Actually i am more concern about Cam's welfare than both clubs. More of a lose lose lose situation
Not necessarily in the longer term, we may be better off as I think we'll get him for a bag of chips now:rolleyes: I'm not being insensitive in saying that, as I know his wellbeing is the most important thing at the moment. Chin up Cam, you'll be in the purple soon enough. :rainbow:

While your point Is noted and correct, that's about all Griff was/is worth.
Actually Adelaide made a statement at the time saying they thought he was worth more but they just decided to do what's right. They said they thought he had similar value to Sam Jacobs who was traded in that same trade week. Personally though IMO that is all Griffin was worth at the time. One or two years into his freo stint (before the knee) it was probably slightly more, now it'd be roughly the same.

With the amount of handouts GWS received, practically fielding a team of first rounders.. they should have been very prepared to lose some players that were homesick.

They were still in a great position on field losing talent like Treloar, Adams and McCarthy and with their academy players coming through they were going to only get stronger.

Cannot fathom how a trade wasn't accepted considering it was a reasonable offer from your club. Extremely poor by the Giants and to now be worried about his welfare is just lip service.

really pathetic by GWS to suddenly be concerned about a guy they strong armed into staying, refused to even consider a deal etc.

we traded Roberton for a bag of chips. he'd be very handy about now, with Duffield dropping off the perch and Sheridan being too raw.
Roberton's a handy size now. That's him on the far left:

For sure, clubs do it all the time and the way GWS treated this young lad is repulsive.

Roberton went as a delisted fa because the Melb clubs knew we would let him go. We didn't even get the bag of chips.

We did the right thing though. And player managers take note of those things when advising players.

Hope it's resolved quickly and there's nothing more behind the story.
Maybe he absolutely hates the joint, the club,Gubby, the way they've treated him and has drawn his own line!
Not professional but I hope that's it.

McCarthy has a personal problem that he's carried throughout the last couple of years but was more predominant last season. Living away from the strongest support he could have to deal with this, in a place he doesn't want to live and being surrounded by a club with no culture isn't an ideal coping mechanism or going to help anyone in this situation.

End of the day GWS look like a bunch of clowns. Tried to make a stance that didn't impress anyone or wouldn't of if he had of stayed, and put their own interests before an individual who clearly needed help.

I wish Cam the best of luck and hope his career as an AFL player doesn't end here.
