I love Rohan, but i'd hazzard a guess to say this is his last season. He made it pretty clear at Selectors during the year he didn't expect to play on for that much longer. If someone offered a first round draft pick, as much as i'd hate seeing Bubba in another jumper, i'd also be realistic about it.

Re: Trades - Doing the rounds

Yeah i havent seen that yet, i would hate to loose faulkner and gilbee they look like they are players that come 2006 will be top of the range players (maybe) bowden wouldent bother me but i would hate to see another stupid deal which bulldogs are bound too do

wanted?

Ok here is just a simple discussion who you think would be handy at bulldogs next year and who we could trade for them. Only suggest players that have been in recent trade talks.

Luke

we already have a thread for this. It's the trade and rumours thread at the top of the board.

If the dogs wanted Ottens, would you be willing to trade pick 3 or 6 and Gilbee/Bowden?
Fair for both sides

If we were, Pick 6 and Bowden sounds fair to me.

Richards

Now i was talking to my cousin this morning who is an essendon fan. He told me he heard on the radio that bulldogs are targeting ted richards and maybe giving it a trade for matthew boyd. I didnt know to belive him or not so i thought id ask here. is it true?

No, but I'd still rather not trade Pick 3 or 6 for Ottens.

I wouldn't trade pick 3 or 6 for Ottens. If we traded pick 6 for Ottens, we'd be in the same situation as we were in with Brown last year. We did the "Veale deal" in order to strike for Rawlings in the PSD, even though we could have got a better deal for Browny (say pick 6, allowing us to pick up someone like Bradley or Tennace), whilst still having the first pick in the PSD where we would have picked up Stevens. We did that all wrong. I'd rather have Bradley/Tennace and Stevens over Rawlings any day.

The truth is, if we target Ottens and give away pick 6, we'd have to get rid of a couple of young players (perhaps Gilbee and McMahon) to be able to maintain a steady salary cap.

Ottens is a gun player who is slowly but surely decreasing in value due to injury and inconsistency. I don't feel like taking a risk, especially considering the likes of Jolly and Simmonds are up for grabs.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH THIS... I don't wanna get into another debate on this subject, but the reality is that we could've had...

Bradley / Stevens (instead we got) Rawlings / Veale.

Under no circumstances are we to give up picks 3 and 6.

To be quite frank with you, I haven't seen any topics/arguments on this forum in regards to the "Veale deal". I don't read and post as much as I have in the past, so that's probably why. Perhaps you can link me to threads based on the opinions of our supporters... :)

I'd take that. If only for it ensuring Matthew Boyd never plays with us again.

Recruited mainly as a developing tall forward but I reckon his best signs have been as a defender. He is still learning the craft a bit so its hard to say how good he will become but he has some strengths to his game.Stands at around 192cm I think and while he can take some pretty spectacular marks he isn't what you would call exceptional overhead which is why I reckon he is more suited to being a defender.

I would be so suspicious of that trade.

We would be screwing over Kevin Sheedy - and no-one screws over Kevin Sheedy (we'd probably find we've included pick 6 in the fine print).

No they don't. It is a priority Pick and as such it is untradeable
Actually all picks including priority picks are tradeable. Carlton could have traded their priority pick last year, as could have we or Melbourne.
