Zero positives. Another 6 months of feeling disgusted in the club. It never gets any better. There's never light at the end of the tunnel. They continue to find ways to let their fans down. That email they sent to all fans during the week epitomizes this club. I was filthy they sent that out before this weekends matches. Getting ahead of themselves again. And just like that, we are the disgrace of the competition again! The laughing stock. I'm sick of it. Continually emotionally and financially contributing to this joke of a club, and they give less than nothing back.

I want the president to come out and publicly tell the supporters that's not good enough. That the way we ended this season is unacceptable. But no, we'll pat each other on the backs and say great job for improving our win loss record. We had so many chances to cement a spot in the finals and we blew them all. 2 losses to North. Disgraceful. Losing to Freo at the G. Unacceptable. Not beating the bottom team at the G by 10+ goals. Deplorable. Not beating a depleted and inexperienced Collingwood side when everything was on the line. Pathetic. We as supporters don't deserve this. But we'll continually buy memberships and show up to support the team just to get bitch slapped again across the face. This hurts more than anytime I can remember following this embarrassing excuse for a football club. We as supporters don't deserve it, but the club once again deserves to be the laughing stock of the competition. Hang your heads in shame MFC.

The positive for me is that we won games this year where we were up against it and our kids were the driving force. Our engine room could be dangerous. We just need some better ball users and some athletic talls who have set roles every week.
What good are wins like that when you blow the gimmes like North, Hawks, Fremantle? The list goes on.

You might as well just lose to the Eagles and Adelaide and win the easy ones instead. After all, it's given Port a top 4 spot.

Commiserations Dees. Being a Pies supporter used to disappointment around finals time
For what it's worth your side is developing exceptionally well , and this result will no doubt drive the club to higher efforts next year. The structure of your playing group is amongst the most complete in the comp.
2019 will be a good year for the Dees. Grab a few frothies to dull the pain and good luck in 2018
We have a good core group. Really good. But we've also got some passengers, that was evidenced yesterday. I think we need to say goodbye to Watts and Vince, and maybe look at Jones very carefully next year, he lost a lot this year.

We need to sort out the Frost situation, and we need a KPD to tighten up our defence. I hope Hogan comes on, and I hope Harmes, Hunt, Melksham, Oscar and Tom McDonald get better.

We are in desperate need of a fast midfielder, and I hope Hunt can fill that role. There are lots of change required in order to be a top 4 contender, and I hope it starts this summer.

I'm not sure anyone knows what he looks like. I haven't seen him since he, Jackson and Roos walked around the G for the coaching announcement four years ago.

Just once it would be nice to see Jackson or Bartlett or Goodwin come out and just smash the club for this shit. Enough is enough! We've just cost ourselves a chance at finals in the most sadistic way imaginable and there wouldn't be a supporter around the country that doesn't feel like absolute crap right now.

And all we had to do was tighten up ONE of those cheap last-second goals at the end of a quarter, or beat one of North, Fremantle, Hawthorn (all of whom we lost to by under a goal), or NOT PUT THE CUE IN THE RACK AGAINST ****ING BRISBANE LAST WEEK. That's literally the difference between playing finals and missing out.

True but at least our reasons for winning were mostly our future guns in the middle. Consolidate on those players and we have a team. We lost some terrible games though not gonna lie. Senior players not good enough.

Interesting you say that because after what's happened for the first time in ages finals are the last thing I wanna watch. Maybe the granny.

As for the point of the thread... a positive? Hmm, not that it matters what others think but in the AFL landscape I suppose we're at least relevant again in the sense that we've graduated back from being pitied, with some people now glad (glad being an understatement) to see us out of the race. Case in point that gameday thread, or e.g. Danny Frawley - "Suck it up Dees supporters.. back to the snow I say *laughing*" (Serves me right for not changing the channel and leaving it on Bounce).

Crusty Demon sums it up so well. Does this club have anyone that will stand up and own this as being unacceptable? I'd like it to happen and be addressed to the members and supporters.
A lot of people decried Essendon and Port's presidents coming out and calling certain performances unacceptable, but look where they are? PLAYING FINALS.

Something we sure as **** aren't.

Danny Frawley is just a loud mouthed bogan who gets to talk shit on a football show for an exorbitant salary. Waste of space. He also was a shit senior coach.

Well it's only positive if we actually really learn from this loss. And I hope we do.

Lost to North twice, Hawthorn, freo, should have beaten Geelong and Richmond. The fact that we beat the best team by 40 on their home deck stings the most
Add to that our poor kicking at goal this year in games. We spudded it up so much in front of the sticks. We miss finals by 1%

It's laughable that you think we (the eagles) have some ticker. We've only played two games in the entire season like that. Against Geelong and this one against Adelaide. Games where we showed a bit of mongrel and aggression and looked as if we had some desperation.

We are easily a bottom 3 tackling team in the competition, both in terms of attempts to tackle as well as tackling form. Definitely a poor example.

Plus you had the umpires helping out.

Yeah lol. Even just think about that Geelong game - we couldn't kick straight to save our lives. Even if we'd lost that game by a point if we'd just kicked straight we'd have been in finals

This will be my last footy post for a while.

But weren't we saying the same thing last year after Carlton?

Not much us as fans can do except pour money into the club (which we've done). The players are ****ing idiots and blew their chance yet again. There are no positives to come from this. Get real.
