Been making an effort to get into the baseball recently Yawkey way . Followed the Phillies because of the connection to the Eagles. Picked up a Bryce Harper jersey a month or so ago and since then they've been on a roll.

No idea about the sides they've faced in the playoffs so far but apparently it's a bit of a Cinderella story, knocking off sides that should beat them.

7th inning at the moment in game 2 vs the Padres.

Need to spend some time understanding what the stats mean but I understand top and bottom of each inning and how the scoring obviously works lol

Yeah I'm trying to get into it because of the history. I definitely can't keep up with the games being on every day though. This one started at 7.30 and 3.5 hours later they are in the 7th inning

You’ll pick it up pretty quickly there‘s not really a lot to it just getting a handle on the jargon. The small graphic usually just shows the innings, if anyones on base, the outs and the pitch count. You should take a quick look at batting averages and the other various metrics used to measure batters. A quick look at say Bryce Harper stats for example then look up what’s recorded like obp, slg and so on. Do the same for the pitchers RBI’s for example a quick look at the fielding positions and you’re getting the feel for it.

haha I wonder how many times you think the batter will make first only to be thrown out by miles, it’s a very Aussie thing for some reason. You’re looking like taking a loss today, I’ve been watching it for hours and I’ll watch the astros v yankees game as well.

Took the interesting parts of cricket ie bat and ball and invented a game that’s fun to play and watch. Played in over 100 countries massive in Japan, Korea, Central America etc.

To be honest i've watched it and enjoyed it, but it wears thin fast. There's a reason they have all that bullshit piped music and stuff going on.
Also, what the hell is going on with those pants they wear? Somehow they can make it look like the fittest guy in the world has his butt dragging on the ground.

Used to get out and see it a bit back in the days of the original Australian Baseball League.

I think one of the main reasons it evolved is that it was a fun participation sport.
Compared to cricket you don't wipe anywhere near as much time out of your weekend, and you get to go out 3 times before you actually have to go out.

Yeah they slide quite a bit and the base running paths are en tout cas or similar so it’s pretty abrasive stuff. Yes 4 sometimes 5 or more at bats. They televise the little league World Series every year and the softball. The kids are fantastic and they absolutely love it, great game for kids.

It's sad. I understand why it's amusing, but ultimately it's cruel he was put into that position (President).

Sure if you were an absolute genius, then you "might" still be above average in your seventies. But that was rarely the case with any of these politicians.
