The government has just folded on recognition of a Palestinian state after a year of voting with the US. Pressuring politicians works and it should be a right in every society. When it's something you believe strongly in you'll want the right to do it too.

I'd wager they only acted because thier jobs are on the line.

Inflation and land tax etc has definitely even made life harder for boomers too. The middle class has been decimated, probably even more than the working classes in trades.

Land tax is getting those boomers to flog off thier investment properties so it's not a bad thing

My comment wasn't in response to your belief that trans women aren't real women. I believe a distinction between cis and trans women is important for a range of reasons.

If anything it was more about your comments about mutilating kids. It's something a lot on the right do, act like they're outraged on behalf of the millions of confused kids getting mutilated by ideologues and profit driven doctors.

If these people really cared about kids they'd know that gender reassignment surgery of minors is incredibly, incredibly rare. They would also know that trans kids who receive appropriate gender affirming care (could be as simple as letting them change their names and pronouns) have lower rates of suicide than those forced to comply with their biological gender.

If you find trans people so icky, that you refuse to budget whatsoever and are willing to accept the trans kids having worse outcomes, I won't argue you on that. That's a subjective call.

But I don't like the feigned care for the kids. Because even if you don't like it, the health statistics clearly indicate that gender affirming care helps kids, even if you don't like the solution.

Ok - so according to you, the amount of kids undergoing gender "reassignment" surgery is miniscule, yes? If so, can you please explain why there appears to be SO much focus on the issue from various government departments around the western democratic nations of the world?

People employed at high level in various departments of health are unable to define a woman! All the government forms now ask about pronouns, non-sex specific toilets need to be available in public spaces....why all this effort and focus if the numbers of people affected are so small?

I would argue that the average person doesn't give two hoots about the issue, and probably has genuine sympathy for any poor soul who has either been genuinely had the misfortune to be born a hermaphrodite or genuinely is mentally the opposite sex of the body they are inhabiting. What people object to is being told they are a bigot or a "hater" because the acceptable behaviour and language being forced on them does not align with the reality of the issue it is supposedly employed to address.

The real problem is Fabian Socialists and their long march through the institutions, They have successfully captured most of education and the public service in the western democracies, and they are well on their way through the media. The things that shape the language that people use, that influence the social norms of the day, and most importantly that shapes the minds of the young.

The aim of Fabian Socialism is a bloodless coup. The conquering of an empire by force requires force to be permanently used to retain control. Eventually the subjugated will rise uup against that force. If you conquer slowly from within, by shaping the language that people use (therefore changing how they think), by gaining access to indoctrinate the youth from as young as possible, you will eventually shape that society to your will.

The baisc unit within a community that has always remained to repel force is the nuclear family. Citizens can see their country invaded and find a way to live under the boot-heel of an invader if necessary, without fighting back. The same applies if the invaders overrun their home town or village, or if those invaders ban them from practising their religious faith. But the push back point is always the same - family. If all else is lost, a man who is not a warrior will finally fight back when the lives of his family are under threat.

Therefore Fabian socialism requires the family unit to be broken down. Hence we've seen single mothers go from being stigmatised to being heroes, the role of fathers go from being respected to being ridiculed in the media, men go from being protectors and providers to being "toxic", basic genders norms that apply to 98% of society being deconstructed.

We have had an explosion of young people identifying as "non-binary" and as any one of the ridiculous 72 "genders" or whatever the count is up to now. There are reports of young kids in school identifying as cats, although not in the numbers to justify the headlines. Do you think that those people always existed and we just suppressed them, and now they are able to be open about the problem? No they didn't always exist. There is a reason almost all of these people are adolescent girls. At a time of life that is difficult for most, when they are moving into adulthood and developing their understanding of who they are as a person, and their place in the world, they are being manipulated as political fodder.

The bait is a "special" place in society, and lots of being the centre of attention - traditionally a very attractive proposition for adolescent girls.

People are pushing back now and electing people like Trump, because they have reached their limit on how much absurdity they can tolerate from their so-called leaders. They want adults back in charge to start addressing serious issues.
