It's a bit loose with interpretations but still a good watch. Have you seen stuff about a place in the pacific called Nan Madol. Islanders built these artificial islands out of basalt. You can't work out how they did it. Not ancient but crazy engineering.
I did not, but he covers it in the very first episode of Series 1.

I have visited the site Ha'amonga 'a Maui when I worked in Tonga which I haven't seen covered in the series. It's a large stonehenge like structure which is built to align with the solstice.

Tonga also has the Lapaha Langi which is like a large foundation of a Inca style pyramid.

From memory Tahiti is also dotted with similar sites as well.

Pacific Islanders did some impressive things with stone.

I watched bits of the series when the wife was watching it. There was a few hypothesises that a bit questionable but it was entertaining. I love archaeology and conspiracy so should be my thing. I saw that one on the Indonesia site that looks like it's potentially man made but there is still a lot of scepticism about it.

I don't really get this. If people don't feel safe today, it doesn't matter what it was like in the 70's.
Telling people who don't feel safe that it's never been safer doesn't make anyone feel better.

If people don't feel well due to irrational fears, the solution is not more police.

Vigilante justice it is then.

In saying that and good mafioso fashion, I'll expect monetary investment so that everyone feels safe on the forum, you know, protection money... ...

Just read comments above about not feeling 'safe' in Melbourne.
Here's some news, for personal security, we have never been safer, in one of the safest cities in one of the safest countries on earth.
Have never felt unsafe in Melbourne, doesn't mean that I am not aware of my surroundings, but to feel 'unsafe' to me is ridiculous.
Australia was much more unsafe when I was growing up, and much more unsafe in the generations prior.
By all means take precautions ( like aforementioned dash cams), but FFS, there is no gun culture, gangs roaming the streets like in the 70's, we have a decent standard of living so no city's of homeless.

Basically to say you feel unsafe in Melbourne means you would feel unsafe anywhere in the world.

It may well be the case that Melbourne is as safe as it gets, that imo is an indictment on the world.

I have no idea where you were in the 70’s but imo from my lived experience Melbourne was a place I never felt unsafe. I lived close to st Kilda and frequented all the local traps and at other another point trained in the western suburbs. Melbourne was imo by any measure a very safe city.

Now as I’ve grown older I keep my wits about me more than I perhaps did back then but I don’t feel as safe as I did. The experience's of my children and my nieces and nephews is not of a safer Melbourne in fact far from it. Some have been threatened in middle class bayside suburbs by machete and knife wielding thugs. Venues have been shut down by the same diaspora and st Kilda beach has seen murders, stabbing and mayhem, how is that safer ?.

Not down playing your experiences just offering a different perspective from someone who was for the most part in this country and in the inner bayside.

Also I can’t understand your comments on pre 1970s as I’m the youngest of 4 with two much older sisters who would dispute your narrative. They paint a picture of a world that was quite different even from the one I grew up in. Mind you they have found memory’s of cruising in the states just like in American graffiti so I guess Melbourne must have felt like another world.

We all have our own experiences but I loved Melbourne as a kid and never felt unsafe.

So Ima have a cry for a bit, feel free to ignore...

So my mucus thing means small potential to choke on own saliva (as not really saliva and more mucus+blood), overheat and pass out, fun times when you see blacks, purples and things start spinning as your eyes do freaky things. Anyway...
Since I previously made the stupid decision to lend my mower to a neighbour who promptly went and probably sold it for "medications" I've decided to skimp it and start tearing out the wisteria that took over my garden space, by garden space I mean;
It's on the front fence line & garden, spilling over.
It's on the fence dividing front and garden at the back.
It's on the back fence line to the driveway.
It's trying to go up to the spouting.
It's partially taken over the outside patio entirely, including the shed there.
There's probably 3-4 bee hives in there. There's definitely an old trampoline on top of that shed that has been consumed by it.
Anyway...
My decision was I was going to tear it TF out bit by bit, as 3 months inattention into that theft and into me skimping amongst other things means I need to friggen vent on something.
So my cry is I literally had to lay on my bathroom tile just before as I was doing just that, it's what 18C, cool wind, and I had to do that cause I was fine following vines, giving them a tug yeeting them into a green bin and then I wasn't.
There's the vision going, I focus on breathing and I'm just trembling, so off comes things as the urge to straight vomit arrives, splash my face, cold compress on neck, onto floor I go.
And people locally ask why I can't control that garden in its current space, frankly, because it'd be a crime for me to grab a blow torch, giggle and pull the trigger at the friggen thing to solve that monstrosity.
I've now cleared maybe 5m squared and several plants and found one of the cores that have so big a root system to dig out later so I can whiplash that bastard...
I then went out, saw my maybe kumquat tree (similar leaves, tall AF, not as many fruit though, was there prior to me existing as a human, birds love that shit I just see them when grounded and half eaten) that has a random metal handle around a trunk offshoot all "how TF am I going to get you off?"

Grinder.
Grinder the tree.
Need new blade that has BDE...
And I need a new ladder so I can yeet that broken panel off the pergola roof as that banging in wind is annoying AF.
And I need to sand the window ledge outside as starting to creak and peel. Need more aggressive paper...

This has been my ted talk whinge, stay hydrated people and FML, I'll drag this bitch kicking and screaming all the friggen way.

Road trip, we'll split the booty, pawn the audio equip for fuel and airbnb.
Wisteria isn’t invasive around here in fact it’s hard to grow with large bunches of purple flowers in grape like bunches. If it’s white with small white flowers it’s jasmine and it’s hard to get rid of. I had to pull it off my back fence when the fence was being replaced.

The joke was I didn’t have any jasmine it grew through from my neighbours at the back who later complained about the jasmine. I pointed out it started off with them, I had some success just cutting it off at the roots, letting it die off them dealing with it. I’d pull the dead stuff off with a three tined hoe then grub out the roots later.

It’s back now just starting to take hold and I quite like it so I don’t care if it runs over the bare fence but it’s very aggressive.

It wasn't invasive, the garden was never mine it was the parents baby, as they eventually died it was just months of inaction as health failed and hospital visits that it just spread like a mofo everywhere on everything and blanket covered things. Like it's honestly impressive that such a small plant literally covered an entire small shed, door and all with the growth. Honestly impressive.

Since however at least check my "estate needs this" is at 12 pages on 10pt text, I'm talking floating floor boards fixing roof and floor (since ducted heating, cooling and vacuum that hasn't worked in 20+ years) all the way to that garden and maybe putting new lawn in.

So if things outside need to demo, it'll demo as just easier to replace.

As I made myself sad looking up the BOM to guess when it might get cooler (hint: maybe 3 hours), hope everyone is staying hydrated and well as we approach maybe 40C today and tomorrow.

FTR me compared to Avalon is a +10C difference my way at present, as in I'm still pushing 40 and they're pushing 30 according to BOM.

and I need to freeze some things overnight to have cooler fans going for tomorrow, hurry up cooler change FFS... don't make me grab a bucket and ice it for footsies.
