In one pocket tonight we have MWPP in her fourth side, a tireless contributor a walk up this season. Our full forward could only be ShaunDuggan who was penciled in at FF before the noms came in and is having a bit of a career renaissance (again). He is in his third side. In the other pocket is Tarkyn_24 who kicked 25 of his 27 goals for the year against the Old Boys (not really thewizardmelon, he really kicked a lot more than that). This is selection number 9 for Tarks which puts him in the top echelon for total guernseys.

Yes!! Wosh!! A triumph!! Congrats old bean, amazing contributions both front-and-centre and behind the scenes for yonks, helping make the place fun and sustainable.

After the heartbreak of the season 19 grand final, new Coney Island Warriors captain @BigJoeD_ looked to build on the work of inaugural captain @Frankston Rover by further strengthening an already formidable squad. Joe & Frankie brought in five rookies including club stalwarts @Packedlunch & @Morganashlee along with @Mr Blicavs & @Yidaki. The other was a person who would literally become a Warrior Princess who went by the name of Wooshette.
Returning player, not a rookie ;). Congrats Wosh!

Hall Of Fame - TheInjuryFactory

As far as the HOF goes this has been a special night for the Warriors and I could not be more pleased than to welcome TIF into the gang. He enters the Hall Of Fame as entrant number 38 (which sounds like he's actually heading to Sweetamania this week).

There’s a Latin word called ‘prodigium’, which pretty much means “an omen or a sign of things to come” and in some cases signifies some strange incident or wonderful appearance which was supposed to herald the approach of something significant. What’s interesting about this word though is that it is the origin of both the noun ‘prodigy’ which is “a young person with exceptional qualities or abilities”, and the adjective ‘prodigious’ which means “remarkably or impressively great in extent, size or degree”. Bear these words in minds as we take a look back to season 26.

That was the season where a young Ross Lyon cub by the name of TheInjuryFactory was recruited into the SFA by newly-minted Hall of Fame inductee Wosh to join the Coney Island Warriors from its shitposting nursery over at the Bay. TheInjuryFactory, or TIF as the lazy among us like to refer to him, already had a fine pedigree of media work both on the Fremantle board (where he is a Poster of the Year recipient) and on other social media platforms. After a season of acclimatisation in Sweet where he learned the history of the joint from the OG Wazzas, TIF’s quality began to shine in his sophomore season and he revealed himself to be nothing short of a prodigy. He earned the first of his six All-SFA guernseys in season 27 along with the first of his eight top 10 finishes in the beez, while taking on more activities at the Warriors as part of a succession plan before taking the reins at Van Cortlandt Park in his third season in the league.

TIF then spent the next five seasons as captain at Coney Island, an era that saw him rise to the very top echelon in the SFA. He built on the work of his predecessors by making the Warriors a strong, vibrant and engaged team. He fastidiously compiled the history of the club and brought in some pretty decent talent, including the current captain & vice captain. He won a Mobbs Medal, his first beez trophy as part of polling in the top 20 every season including a three season stretch in the top 3, four more All-SFA guernseys along with being named All-SFA captain once and vice-captain twice, a Frankston Rover Medal as the Coney Island best & fairest, and the first of his Frankston Rover Awards for outstanding contribution to the league.

And it is here that he is truly a triple threat that goes beyond on-field and posting excellence. From outstanding Committee activity to assisting the league with champagne graphics content, to driving the revival of the State of Origin concept where he has organised tournaments, being a part of the uber-stacked Western Australia leadership group along with picking up a State of Origin MVP award, to the charity work that he has championed. Being a successful qooty player and creating content that is enjoyed by the whole of the SFA community are great, but raising almost $10,000 towards worthy charities through the implementation of activities such as the Bushfire Appeal and the Light vs Dark Trilogy is stuff that makes a REAL impact, and shows that we’re more than just an insulated bunch of online ‘personalities’ but a community of people that can make a real difference in the World.

That would be enough for anybody to be considered worthy of induction to the SFA Hall of Fame, but to do that in seven season, or 3.5 years in human terms, just proves how much of a prodigy TIF is. And the great thing is that he hasn’t rested on his laurels. In the six seasons since he handed over the persimmon baton to yours truly, TIF has won a second beez trophy to go with another four top 10 placings making it 10 out of 12 seasons in the top ten (with another incoming this season if I were a betting man), another Frankston Rover Award and then a third one earlier this week, and a State of Origin championship with his beloved Sandgropers which he now co-captains. He’s still contributing to the Warriors both in the capacity as a leadership group member, an active team member and a gun on the qooty field but also continuing to represent the club in Committee. He became interim admin for a while there and ran a snap election with military precision. He’s still helping pretty much everyone with graphics, he’s still running charity events and he’s still advocating for a better SFA. And the cherry on the icing on a prodigious cake is that he earned life membership of the Coney Island Warriors, which is one of the most valued accolades to him.

So what do you give the person who has everything? Well it seems a premiership is out of the question, so this is the next best thing. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my absolute honour to announce that TheInjuryFactory is the 38th inductee into the Sweet FA Hall of Fame. Mazel tov brother!

The Filth Wizard

I’m really a bit jealous of TIF. While I clearly have him on looks and charisma this bloke turned up out of the blue posting better, posting prettier, posting funnier, working much damn harder than most in this joint. He became a hard and fast icon of the league. Well guess what mate… hopefully this is where it finally pays off for you. A couple of seasons before I linked up with them TIF with his protégé (and let’s be fair future Haller Tonga Bob) started a charm offensive the like I have never seen and while I have loved and respected every poster I have been on a team with TIF delivers every season. He is another passionate member of this league we could not do without for a second. I spoke glowingly of him on Mobbs night mindful I was going to heap more praise on this man in a week than perhaps any other human (you should see the PM’s, they’re disgusting!).

Congratulations TheInjuryFactory. A fine friend, a secret Boys Club member and my safety raft during this admin run and beyond. You are more than deserving of joining this hall of fame.

I also feel I should post pantskyle's tribute to Wosh and TheInjuryFactory that he totally wrote himself.

Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Sweet FA members, and honored guests,

Today, I stand before you with immense pride and excitement, as we gather to induct two truly deserving individuals into the Sweet FA Hall of Fame: Wosh and TheInjuryFactory. This is a moment not only of celebration but of deep gratitude for the contributions these two legends have made to our great community.

As someone who has had the privilege of watching them grow, both as players and as pillars of this community, I can say with complete certainty that the Sweet FA would not be the same without them. Their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to the league have not only earned them their place here today but have set a standard for excellence that we all strive to live up to.

Let's start with Wosh.

Wosh is a name that echoes in Sweet FA history. Known for her exceptional talent and relentless drive on the field, she has delivered some of the most unforgettable moments in Sweet FA’s history. But it’s not just her on-field brilliance that makes her special—it's her character, her leadership, and her ability to bring people together. Whether it’s through her insightful commentary, her never-say-die attitude, or her infectious enthusiasm, Wosh has made an impact in ways that go beyond stats and accolades. Her legacy is one of inspiration, and it’s something that will resonate within the Sweet FA for years to come.

And then we have TheInjuryFactory.

Now, TheInjuryFactory might have a name that suggests he’s prone to mishaps, but nothing could be further from the truth. While his career has been marked by moments of both triumph and adversity, it’s his resilience that truly defines him. TheInjuryFactory has faced challenges head-on, never backing down, and always giving everything for the team. More than that, his sense of humor, his camaraderie, and his unwavering support for his fellow players have helped to shape the culture of the Sweet FA. He has shown us that sometimes it’s not just about winning—it’s about lifting each other up, pushing through setbacks, and staying true to the spirit of the game.

So, today, I have the distinct honor of welcoming Wosh and TheInjuryFactory into the Sweet FA Hall of Fame. Their achievements on and off the field are a testament to what this league represents—dedication, passion, and the drive to make Sweet FA not just a game, but a community, a family.

Wosh, TheInjuryFactory, you both have left an indelible mark on this league, and I’m proud to see your names etched in Sweet FA history. On behalf of all of us, thank you for everything you’ve done. We celebrate you today, and we’ll continue to celebrate your legacies for years to come.

Congratulations on your well-deserved induction. You’ve earned it.

Thank you.

Glorious pantskyle

Our followers lines welcomes a couple of new names to the Sweet FA record books. Our ruck is cats2rise who is a true veteran of the league and finally gets his chance to say he is All-SFA worthy. Over The Post had a stellar year and is a lay down misere as this teams rover in his first time as well.

Of course, there's moginie, our reigning Mobbs Medallist capping off a successful week with a second selection and this time as ruck rover.
