Sweet FA Season 22: Round 11
Tarkyn_24 turned back the clock in round 11 kicking a 7 goal bag to get the Fighting Furies back into the 8 while the Las Vegas Bears still sit atop the ladder after their bad form continued as they lost to the East Side Hawks. The Sin City Swamprats somehow managed to have their second draw making them the first team to play in two draws during the same season since season 08. This also makes the Swamprats the second club in Sweet FA history to play in two draws during a season.

To kick off round 11 the Mount Buller Demons hosted the Coney Island Warriors at the Snow Dome. An exciting first term saw the Demons lead by 4 points at the first break after kicking 5 goals for the quarter. The Warriors turned it up a notch in the second and added 7 goals to their tally to lead by 4 goals at halftime. Not to be outdone, the Demons kept the Warriors to 3 goals while kicking 7 themselves in the 3rd quarter to lead by 1 point at the final break. In a scintillating final term the warriors kicked 5 goals to the Demons 3 to take home victory by 16 points, what a game it was. Morganashlee kicked an important 5 goals for the victors while RedVest4 was a key player with 25 touches, 3 tackles and 2 goals. Logger was best on ground for the losing side with 20 hitouts, 29 disposals, 6 tackles and kicking 2 goals.

Las Vegas Bears vs East Side Hawks at The Stadium In The Sky
The Las Vegas Bears have been in poor form over the last few weeks and a game against one of the bottom sides would be sure to turn around their fortunes. The Bears came out strong in the first quarter kicking 5 goals to lead by 2 at the first break. East Side Hawks showed some grit in the second quarter but still trailed by 3 goals at the halftime break. In a spirited 3rd quarter the Hawks kicked 5 goals and limited the Bears to a single goal, things were looking grim for the Bears behind by a goal at the final break. The Hawks kept the Bears goalless in the final term and kicked 3 of their own to win the game by 20 points. The Filth Wizard kicked a 5 goal bag but man of the match will go to Agent93 who had 29 touches and kicked a goal. brahj should get a vote with his 6 goal bag in the losing side.

Sin City Swamprats vs Dragons FFC at Underground Stadium
The Dragons were accurate in front of goal in the first quarter kicking 4 goals straight but the Swamprats had their number and led by 2 goals at quarter time. The Sin City Swamprats really looked like they had something to prove in the second quarter as they piled on 8 goals and led by 6 goals at halftime. Coming out after the long break the Dragons kicked 6 goals to get themselves back into the contest and only trailed by 2 goals at the final break. The 4th quarter was an absolute nail biter with both teams unable to get on top of one another, finally the siren tolled and we saw the Swamprats have their second draw for the season. Determinant was best on ground for the Dragons with 28 disposals and kicking 3 goals but 6 frees against may sway the umpires decision with the votes. Far Kern and Quadzilla had 26 and 27 disposals respectively and each kicked a goal, they were the pick of the rest of the players although Sam_Malone did kick 5 goals but only had 6 touches of the ball all night.

The lead up to the game was fairly flat with only 14 pages in the match thread but the game itself was anything but flat. The Geelong Wolves got out to a 3 goal lead in the first quarter but suffered from terrible accuracy issues kicking 9 behinds for the term. In the second the Roys had the better of their opponents and kicked 6 goals to trail by 9 points at the halftime break. The Roys grabbed the lead for the first time in the game during the third quarter and held a 3 goal lead at the final break. The Roys were hungrier for the victory and kicked a solid 7 goals in the 4th quarter to win the game by 35 points. There were three clear vote getters for the Roys with Loonerty collecting 31 touches, 6 tackles and kicking 2 goals, Mooch collected 29 touches, 5 tackles and kicked 2 goals while Mighty P had 30 touches, 2 tackles and kicked a goal.

The Baghdad Bombers came out flying, kicking 7 goals and 2 behinds in the first to the Gold City Royals 5 goals and 4 behinds. The Bombers continued to have the better of their opponents the Royals in the second quarter and led by 3 goals at the halftime break. In a similar fashion, after the long break the Bombers looked like the team that wanted it more as they piled on another 5 goals to the Royals 2 and as they came off at 3qtr time the Bombers led by 5 goals. As the players came out for the final term the Royals looked determined to get themselves back in the game and in an inspiring fashion they kicked 8 goals while holding the Bombers to only 2. Sweet FA Season 22: Round 12
Round twelve marked the Las Vegas Bears 150th all-time Sweet FA match but their run of bad form finally toppled them from 1st place after losing their 4th match in a row. The Gold City Royals now sit on top of a very even ladder with 5 teams on 28 points. Interestingly the Royals have a percentage of 98.09 which puts them as the 6th worst percentage out of all the teams in the 8.

Both teams came out of the blocks flying with the West Coast Wonders proving accurate with their 5 goals, but the Coney Island Warriors exceeded them with 8 goals and 1 behind, it looked like we were in for a great game. After the break, the Warriors added another 3 goals to their tally while the wonders were as inaccurate as they were accurate in the first, kicking 2 goals and 7 behinds to trail by 4 goals at halftime. After the long break the Wonders improved their accuracy by taking less shots at goal, only kicking 1 for the quarter while the Warriors added another 5. In the final term the Warrors continued to have the best of the Wonders, adding another 3 goals to win the game by a solid 50 point margin. Benwah83 was best on ground for the victors with his 13 hitouts, 31 disposals and 3 goals while Frankston Rover collected 27 touches, 5 tackles and kicked 2 goals. DapperJong was again a strong performer with 21 touches and a huge 11 tackles.

The first quarter was fairly even but the Royals would be disappointed with missed opportunities after kicking 5 goals and 5 behinds to lead by a goal at quarter time. After the break the Royals continued to have accuracy issues kicking another 5 goals and 4 behinds, extending their lead to 3 goals. The Royals coach must have told them to stop missing the big sticks during half time because in the third they finally got their accuracy in check and extended the lead to 5 goals. The fourth quarter was awesome qootball to watch with the Furies making a last ditch attempt with a massive 9 goal quarter, but in the end losing by 13 points to the Royals. Blacky was best on ground with 28 touches, 9 tackles and 2 goals to his name while akkaps was strong for the losers with 31 touches, 10 tackles and a goal. Footypie32 will again appear in the votes after collecting 25 touches, 3 tackles and kicking a goal.

Another quiet match thread for the Wolves with only 13 pages in the match thread this round, however the game made up for the lack of action in a thriller. The Geelong Wolves would be disappointed with 4 goals and 5 behinds in the first quarter and only a 1 goal lead, too many missed opportunities. They managed to steady in the second quarter and added another 4 goals while it was the Bombers turn to miss the big sticks. The Bombers coach will be furious at half time after they kicked 3 goals 8 behinds to trail by 2 goals during the break. Both teams were neck and neck in the third quarter going goal for goal as the bombers clawed their way back to a 9 point deficit. Sadly for the Bombers their inaccuracy continued in the final term and they lost the game by 5 points, the coach looked furious. Best on ground was GWBogan for the Wolves with his 12 hitouts, 21 touches, 4 tackles and 3 goals. Red mist will get votes for the losing Bombers with his 28 disposal, 2 tackles and 1 goal game. Rounding out the votes will most likely be Hatchy1992 who had 23 touches and 5 tackles.

Dragons FFC vs Roys FFC at Dragon Island
It was hard to separate the two teams in the first quarter with each team going neck and neck but the Dragons managed to have a 1 point lead at the first break. In the second both teams went BANG and a shootout was on. The dragons kicked 10 goals to the Roys 8 to lead by 2 goals at half time. Obviously after a talking to at halftime the Roys came out with renewed fight and they held the dragons to 2 goals while kicking 5 of their own to lead by a goal at 3 quarter time. In similar fashion in the last quarter the Roys kept the Dragons to a single goal while kicking 2 of their own to win the game by 27 points. It will be hard to pick the votes in this game with so many solid performers but it is likely either Willo_ or Mooch takes home the 3 with Willo_ getting 21 hitouts, 35 touches and 1 goal, while Mooch managed 31 touches and 3 goals. The single vote will most likely go to Dicky Fitzwell who accumulated 30 touches and kicked 2 goals.

Can the East Side Hawks break their run of bad form finally and topple the higher placed Swamprats? The Swamprats came out firing with 6 goals and a behind in the first quarter to lead by 2 goals when the siren rang. Things were looking grim for the Hawks as the Rats piled on another 7 goals in the second quarter to lead by 6 goals at halftime. The Hawks did look more spirited after the long break but still they trailed by 5 goals when the siren rang for 3 quarter time. It looked like the Hawks all but gave up in the last quarter as they only kicked 2 goals to the Swamprats 4, meaning the Swamprats went home with a 47 point victory. Another game that will be hard to pick the vote order but it is likely Far Kern was best on ground with 16 hitouts, 34 touches and 2 goals, while Ant Bear with 27 touches, 9 tackles and 3 goals is also a chance for BOG. Rounding out the votes will be Cloud_ with his 28 touches and 3 goals.

Surely the Las Vegas Bears will snap themselves out of their North Melbourne-esque slump in this game, but it wasn’t looking likely with the Demons moving to a quick 3 goal lead at quarter time. The Bears troubles continued in the second quarter as they kicked 1 goal and 6 behinds to trail the Demons by 4 goals at half time. Another ugly quarter for the Bears in the 3rd saw the Demons shoot out to a 7 goal lead. Finally in the last quarter it looked like the bears had found their spirit as they kicked 8 goals but it was too little too late and the Demons won the game by 8 points. Van_Power (cats2rise) was a solid performer for the Demons with 21 touches, 8 tackles and a goal while Van_Dyke will probably take home the BOG with hiw 32 disposals. kane249 should pick up a vote for the losing side with a spirited 33 disposal and 3 tackle game.

Geelong Wolves vs Baghdad Bombers at The Lair
Another quiet match thread for the Wolves with only 13 pages in the match thread this round, however the game made up for the lack of action in a thriller. The Geelong Wolves would be disappointed with 4 goals and 5 behinds in the first quarter and only a 1 goal lead, too many missed opportunities. They managed to steady in the second quarter and added another 4 goals while it was the Bombers turn to miss the big sticks. The Bombers coach will be furious at half time after they kicked 3 goals 8 behinds to trail by 2 goals during the break. Both teams were neck and neck in the third quarter going goal for goal as the bombers clawed their way back to a 9 point deficit. Sadly for the Bombers their inaccuracy continued in the final term and they lost the game by 5 points, the coach looked furious. Best on ground was GWBogan for the Wolves with his 12 hitouts, 21 touches, 4 tackles and 3 goals. Red mist will get votes for the losing Bombers with his 28 disposal, 2 tackles and 1 goal game. Dragons FFC vs Roys FFC at Dragon Island
It was hard to separate the two teams in the first quarter with each team going neck and neck but the Dragons managed to have a 1 point lead at the first break. In the second both teams went BANG and a shootout was on. The dragons kicked 10 goals to the Roys 8 to lead by 2 goals at half time. Obviously after a talking to at halftime the Roys came out with renewed fight and they held the dragons to 2 goals while kicking 5 of their own to lead by a goal at 3 quarter time. In similar fashion in the last quarter the Roys kept the Dragons to a single goal while kicking 2 of their own to win the game by 27 points. It will be hard to pick the votes in this game with so many solid performers but it is likely either Willo_ or Mooch takes home the 3 with Willo_ getting 21 hitouts, 35 touches and 1 goal, while Mooch managed 31 touches and 3 goals. The single vote will most likely go to Dicky Fitzwell who accumulated 30 touches and kicked 2 goals.

Sin City Swamprats vs East Side Hawks at Underground Stadium
Can the East Side Hawks break their run of bad form finally and topple the higher placed Swamprats? The Swamprats came out firing with 6 goals and a behind in the first quarter to lead by 2 goals when the siren rang. Things were looking grim for the Hawks as the Rats piled on another 7 goals in the second quarter to lead by 6 goals at halftime. The Hawks did look more spirited after the long break but still they trailed by 5 goals when the siren rang for 3 quarter time. It looked like the Hawks all but gave up in the last quarter as they only kicked 2 goals to the Swamprats 4, meaning the Swamprats went home with a 47 point victory. Another game that will be hard to pick the vote order but it is likely Far Kern was best on ground with 16 hitouts, 34 touches and 2 goals, while Ant Bear with 27 touches, 9 tackles and 3 goals is also a chance for BOG. Rounding out the votes will be Cloud_ with his 28 touches and 3 goals.

Mount Buller Demons vs Las Vegas Bears at Snow Dome
Surely the Las Vegas Bears will snap themselves out of their North Melbourne-esque slump in this game, but it wasn’t looking likely with the Demons moving to a quick 3 goal lead at quarter time. The Bears troubles continued in the second quarter as they kicked 1 goal and 6 behinds to trail the Demons by 4 goals at half time. Another ugly quarter for the Bears in the 3rd saw the Demons shoot out to a 7 goal lead. Finally in the last quarter it looked like the bears had found their spirit as they kicked 8 goals but it was too little too late and the Demons won the game by 8 points. Van_Power (cats2rise) was a solid performer for the Demons with 21 touches, 8 tackles and a goal while Van_Dyke will probably take home the BOG with hiw 32 disposals. kane249 should pick up a vote for the losing side with a spirited 33 disposal and 3 tackle game.
