FMD crackling on my roast pork I cooked didn’t work .
Did you oil/salt the night before and leave it uncovered overnight in the fridge?
Lightly oil a couple of hours before cooking
Then cook it on high for 20 minutes before turning the bbq/oven temperature back to cooking heat
 
Leaving it uncovered overnight in the fridge dries out the moisture in the skin...

yep. Salt overnight, uncovered in the fridge. Blast it at max temp for 15-20mins then back it off to 160-180.
with 10 to go have a look, and if not sufficiently crackled, crank up the temp again for 5.
rest it covered in foil for 10-15
