Luke Ball "literally" said it should have been paid a free kick. Why should I bother if you don't even agree with him?
Well...to be honest, everyone here is wondering why you bothered with such an poorly thought out argument in the first place. Don't ask us why.

Perhaps your melts in an attempt to save face are indicative of your jealousy of the bulldogs?

Why would anyone doubt RC's reasoned, legitimate analysis when he holds such grand list of impressive, proven accomplishments? Need I remind you that RC:

-created a $40 million dollar empire from nothing but Satanism and a highschool education
-gotten over the tragic death of his sister overseas.
-gotten over the tragic death of his parents in a car crash (just like James Bond!)
-studied in the field on Biology (Neurology included) for longer than the average PhD student does (over 15 years)
-written a pilot for a televsion show satiring "Reality" TV
-given up a promising AFL footballer due to a "terrible" injury
-bested his hero Matthew Lloyd in a one-on-one match-up and was able to befriend his hero due to their mutual respect despite the aforementioned "terrible" injury.
-risen to the top of the Melbourne, and thus Australian advertising industry (just like Todd Sampson!) without a hint of formal education in the area.
-intimidated and humiliated former Australian cricket captain, and living legend Ricky Ponting
-single-handedly come up with the Rhonda and Ketut AAMI advertising campaign, but it was stolen off him.
-mastered a dozen languages and is conversational in another dozen.
-become a celebrated DJ at Melbourne's 'Heat' nightclub
-was exiled due to issues with the ATO
-placed in numerous "illegal street races" in his adopted home of Indonesia
-taken part in local discussions solving disputes between muslims and christians
-had sexual intercourse with Helena from My Kitchen Rules
-helped fund a new local soccer stadium
-hunted sharks to help feed the locals
-hosted a Christmas party for a local Orphanage
-has a direct lineage to Machievelli
-committed suicide on the 9th of Janurary 2016
-admitted it was a ruse to throw off the AFP on the 14th
-is an advocate of pseudoscience (MBTI), despite being a man of science
-reappeared on the 6th of Feburary, in China, but using an Australian proxy for obvious reasons.
-uncovered a massive match-fixing scandal that went all the way to the AFL grand final.

Why anyone would even attempt to critique the OP is beyond me

FACT. Bulldogs won the 2016 Grand Final.
FACT. Bulldogs are the 2016 premiers.
That's likely to remain a fact for a very long time, so all the posters trying to hang shit on them are just wasting their time. I would have thought people would be more focussed on 2017 by now.

Sydney had only 7 shots in the second half and the Bulldogs had 16. Even if Sydney converted every shot they still wouldn't have won. The score line was flattering in the end.

Bute, you're confusing the issue - this is a salty rant, not a reality, err, check.

Agree with op. Every Bulldogs fan in this thread claims offended. So every neutral fan is wrong are they?
The old plugger defence. Those neutrals can't be wrong.

You've continued to take the dogs winning a final over your team in Perth well

But it doesn't work. Without the classic 'egg laying' or 'professional fumbles' the Bulldogs struggle to keep up with the top 4 the rest of the year, and their true power level is exposed.

In your little fantasy are the Dogs stripped of the 2016 Premiership? Or are they still the Premiers?? I'm only asking cos I really like supporting the current champions of the competition

even the AFL admitted that the umpiring was poor.
But all that matters at the end of the day, is that the Bulldogs won the 2016 premiership.

They admitted a few decisions on grand final day were poor. Not that the Bulldogs were cheats or perhaps illegitimate premiers

Well yeah
Fully on board with disparaging their flag is appalling, ,but some of the Bulldogs supporters aren't lovely little darlings either.

If you were a GWS or Sydney fan watching the finals against the Bulldogs, you would probably have been tearing your hair out seeing the players in red white and blue be brought down, only to slap it out or deftly drop it to a running teammate. It reminds me of Kevin Bartlett's running bounces when he knew he was about to be tackled. I'm not doubting the talent on the Bulldog's team, and the rebuild under Beveridge has been incredible. But I can't help but think their success last year was built on exploiting the grey areas of disposals by hand. Ironically Hawthorn cops a lot of bashing for having a good go from the umpires, but their premierships were built on precision passing with elite foot skills. I won't deny that at times a few of their disposals by hand have been dubious, but that goes for every team. The Bulldogs are simply capitalising on this, and you can't deny it when you go back and watch their games last season.

So what is to be done? Well we need to more broadly define what an illegal disposal actually is, because let's face it, this is currently the only sport where commentators will say 'WOW what a great fumble!' Here are my suggestions...

- Knocking the ball with an open palm is always illegal, if not in a ruck contest OR if the ball cannot be marked. If a player is uncontested and slaps the ball instead of marking it, play on. The only exception is if you manage to recover the ball yourself. A player is a allowed to slap the ball to get it to sit up better for him, but if a teammate recovers it first then a free kick is awarded to the opposition.

- Placing the ball on the ground and leaving it there, even when not being tackled is dropping the ball.

- If a player has possession for at least ONE second and loses the ball in a tackle it is considered dropped, regardless whether the defending player slapped it out of him or not. If the ball didn't come out straight away in the tackle and the player is immobile the umpire goes red hot on a ball up.

I know any mention of rule changes is going to be open with heavy resistance and criticism, and I'm open to the fact that these changes might make the game worse instead of better. I'm just of the opinion that the grey is overshadowing the black and white of this particular rule, and I won't be surprised if the Bulldogs once again exploit this to meme themselves into another premiership.

The Bulldogs rely on their manic pressure and putting teams under the pump and shake them off their game, and then they pounce and just bite on like a dog refusing to let go of a bone. Thing is, if you never let them jump you to begin with, or if they come at you with the intensity of a normal side, their skills are massively exposed and they become quite average.

Look at JJ, his skills were woeful for much of that GF, couldn't hit the side of a barn, but it didn't matter because of that total team pressure from all 18 on the field made up for his clangers, and put Sydney under so much pressure that they couldn't capitalize on the constant Bulldogs mistakes.

Beveridge is a very smart coach. Saw that his team had holes in the list in regards to the talent levels, so instead got them to buy in to a gameplan that hinges on something that doesn't require talent - work ethic and kamikaze-like pressure on the opposition ball carrier.

In 2016, other teams didn't see it coming. In 2017, the Dogs are the big boys now, and EVERYBODY will be planning for them. It's going to be hard for them to stay at the top, because in terms of pure talent, the list isn't that strong. It's their insane manic pressure that makes them look good.

If they maintain that pressure, they will be strong again, but if they drop off even by 10%, their lack of pure skills will be exposed.

Oh it's you! You've got great form for reading our list, don't you? Such a great read of each of the dogs players.

Why don't you remind us what you thought of the dogs list two years ago?

The list isn't that strong??

By every measure that footy has our list is in the top teams.

The only people who think it isn't strong are people who have an agenda against us now. It may not be the best list(some wil argue it is) but it's so far above average to say it's not strong is laughable

The bloke is a fool MD, I wouldn't bother. He essentially said we had by far the worst list in the AFL in 2015 and that we were in for a long time down the bottom. Much stronger claims than anyone justifiably predicting we would do poorly that year to the extent where he called all of our promising young players terrible.

Cognitive dissonance running so strong that it persists a couple of years later. Even a premiership can't change the deeply held stupidity.
