Yeah I'm puzzled too about all these hired cleaners.

As for staying in a hotel, yeah I do keep it pretty tidy, don't just act like a slob just cause they service the room everyday. They can make the bed tho, no way I'm dong that on holiday.

Haha. We don't even have a house. It's an apartment. Only did it a couple of times when we had infants. Just for some respite.

For some reason my mum used to always listen to Seger while doing the housecleaning, which was nearly always, so I can only handle small doses now.

My mum played Dire Straits, ABBA and the Carlton theme song (on a vinyl record no less).

Fair to say I'm overly familiar with all 3.

Exactly. I'n genuinely surprised how many people use cleaners. Its not that hard.

Only times I've paid for cleaners was in a share house and everyone was to busy too get the place up to scratch for a rental inspection. Was surprisingly reasonable price from memory.

$25 p/Hr total of 4 hours

I see it as contributing to keeping the economy running. I hate cleaning and after hurting my back it was easier to have a cleaner than putting up with the half assed attempts that I made in trying to vacuum and scrub showers and toilets without reinjuring myself - once I was well again I felt bad about giving her the flick and we've kept her on fortnightly and we do a general clean in the off week. Works for everyone and ICGAF that others think it lazy - I enjoy that my time is my own and not spent cleaning

I don't particularly have to pay for an oil change either but I still do. People pay for lots of things that are not necessary.

Mum and dad are out of the house 7am-6pm on weekdays for work, mum spends an entire day of each weekend with my grandmother, the last thing she wants to do is spend the other day cleaning. They say the money ($100 a fortnight) is worth being able to enjoy their weekends.

I am hardly around the house these days and my brother is useless.
