How much $$$ do you pay for cleaners?

When we bought the place we're living in now, it cost I think somewhere around the $500 mark for a full clean of everything after the previous owners had moved out. Not sure how much it would be to just clean one or two rooms.

I would't mind having cleaners in once a month or something, just to get the spots I can never usually be bothered with, window seals, door frames, etc. Here in the country those things attract more dust and dirt than flies around shit.

Actually they attract a lot of flies as well and they are full of corpses.

As for general house duties I actual enjoy doing it myself, vaccing the floors and carpet, mopping the floorboards. Strangely therapeutic.

Given that the solid plate is in the middle of the side burners with have grills over them, and therefore over the middle burners, what exactly is the point of the middle burners and the flat hot plate?

Not that I pay attention, but seriously...

To clean up after the painters?

My Mrs tidies hotel rooms, makes the bed and all before we leave. Drives me batshit
As someone who has worked in hotels, your Mrs is annoying AF for the staff. They have to unmake the bed to strip it, it takes them longer. If she really wants to be helpful tell her to pull all the blankets and sheets off the bed (or at least to the end of it).

Just moved into a place and we have a cleaner once a fortnight for 70 bucks. There is four of us in this place, so $17.50 each a fortnight is a no brainer. We just tidy up as we go and keep it pretty clean, then she comes and does the big stuff we can't be ****ed with.

Had a cleaner as a kid - mum's a clean freak but always very busy, started off at once a week but in the end got to three times a week... Looking back have nfi why this was, we aren't/weren't even a messy family.

Having moved to London, it's pretty common practice. Cleaners are so damned cheap (about the £10 an hour), so an hour or two a week between a few is pittance.

Apparently chefs aren't the best cooks at home. They can't be bothered. It's like bringing your work home.

That's like me I can't be bothered fixing other people's computer problems in my free time as I do it enough during my day :p

I used to not mind doing it, but when people expect it to be done for free (not even a thank you), that's the extra kicker!

I have friends though where the bloke in the couple goes through stages of unemployment but they still hire a cleaner... Carn, he's a stay at home fella, surely the house would be clean anyway?

Why become a chef if you can't be bothered enjoying your skills personally? It would be like a tradie not doing their own handyman work around the house, or a mechanic not working on their own car...
