All I'll say is I've never seen so much discussion and angst over over a sporting comp from people that don't like it.

Anything else I swear they would just say once or twice that they don't rate or enjoy it and then not watch it.. and forget about it..

Every other fledgling competition doesn't have the resources of the AFL behind it. And they have a clear marketing strategy in place.

Inheritance and Estates, and what's legal vs what's fair...

There was an elderly lady who lived in a unit complex at the end of our street who passed away just after Christmas. Her daughter - who visited every week, and lived with her for a few weeks last year when her mum had had a bad fall, has been at the house virtually every day through January, cleaning, going through boxes of photos, etc.

Last weekend, a man we have never met turned up with a removal van and skip bin and took everything still inside into it. Later that day a painter turned up, followed by carpet cleaners. Tuesday it went on market. Thursday it was sold.

This morning, the daughter was standing outside, obviously distraught. She was talking with another neighbour (who knew both far better than I). She had no idea about it even being put on market, let alone sold.

Turns out, she wasn't the lady's daughter, she was actually the son's ex-wife. The son had left years ago (at least the 15 we've been here) and his ex-wife continued to care for his mum. When the lady passed away, the son was informed, flew back to Tasmania for a week and sold the house.

She gets nothing. Son was sole beneficiary.

Her lawyer has told her there is virtually no hope of seeing any $$ and all the furniture, etc has already been sold or trashed.

Be thankful the AFL hasn't gone the way of the A leagues. As someone relatively new to following soccer I have absolutely no interest in the womens soccer e but now we no longer have an a league and a w league. We have them all merged under one banner if I do want to follow the men's team I have no choice but to have the women's league clogging my feed too.

given the A-League refers to Australia (aker J league = japan), the womens league should be the A-W League

True enough. This customer is funny, he's incredibly blunt and direct, most people may have danced around it but he told me straight away ha ha

I did that with a customer, she wanted to buy a item but she said usually husband did all the big item purchasing, i said if you want to wait and speak to him about it, she said he died a couple months ago, awkward silence for a few seconds

Just show me the competition and preferably with the top athletes not someone who is going to come 85th because he is Aussie.

That is cruel. I acted for a woman who married a bloke after his first wife died. They were the same age and they were married for twenty years. The adult kids of the first marriage refused to accept her - they fought having her on the head stone and then brought a pointless proceeding to fight the provision for her in the will. She was eighty at the time and they were all professional people in mid life. It was cruel - absolutely cruel. They ended up pissing a large chunk of the Estate on pointless legal proceedings

Ive seen wills and estates turn even close families into fierce enemies.

I suspect it will happen with my wifes brothers (hopefully in many many years).

Dad died four years ago and we are still trying to resolve various aspects of probate - and he was pretty organised

My brother is really unhappy about how his will was set up and I can almost guarantee that when mum dies it will end up in court
