I actually almost always look forward to social interactions (usually because im a planned person and have them set in stone weeks/months out) but every so often one happens where on the day i think "I wish i could just bail and stay home".

Those ones usually end up being the best.

With how much our interactions are digital and remote these days it makes the in person catch ups much more significant.

It’s why in person meetings are even more important than ever (as I wait for my 10am appointment to show up ha ha)

There’s nothing wrong with being an introvert. I’m always apprehensive about going to large social gatherings, prefer a small group of well-known friends or rels. I’m ok when I get there but after a couple of hours I’m ready to go home. Have been known to go sit in the car for a while during a party .

Weird day for news yesterday, spoke to two of my good mates after one another: one is separating from his wife and the other is having a kid after a miscarriage last year. I must be even Steven!

Been given a bit more responsibility at work and have taken over supervising some large-scale projects. Got invited to a meeting that runs fortnightly regarding some communications information that I’m going to need. I’m positive this meeting could be completed over teams however of course it’s booked for a site that’s an hour away from me (working from home to avoid COVID) and from 1pm - 4pm and there’s no desk on site that I can sit at.

So now I’m going to have to drive there for about 12:30, kick around for half an hour and then cop the absolute peak shitshow of traffic on the way home, it’s probably gonna be a 2 hour trip home. Even more frustrating that I’m going to be at this site Thursday/Friday for other projects.
