I dont do a cake for my birthday, i tell em to **** off. /but in a much nicer way.

My work used to do training once a week that was during our lunch break. They supplied lunch (usually sandwiches). It stopped after I said I only needed a 10min lunch break and therefore I could go home 50min earlier each day (we get an hr lunch break). They said we need the hr lunch to clear our heads and have a break, it makes for a better workplace. I pointed out our training days take up lunch break so we need an extra hr off on those days......training is now done during work hours.

We used to do that on PD days- consensus was we'd just take a 30 min lunch, finish earlier dont do that anymore.

Another thing my faculty leader used to do on a Friday (maybe one per month) come 3.45ish (finishing time was 4.30pm) say "ah everyone just go home, all good". Yup those days are long gone, cut off that form of pleasure as well.

Forced ones are garbage. I work in a place where most people get along, we go out for lunch every Friday, but that’s our choice. You cant force people to bond.

The woman (bosses wife who he created a job for when she got fired from her actual job) who made the '1hr lunch must be taken rule' has since left so I can now take a shorter lunch and leave early if I want (I do every Friday and occasionally other days). The boss has gotten pretty good on days where only 2 or 3 of us are in to leave earlier on Fridays - he'll just say 'may as well go home'.

Can't stand those that take it upon themselves to police everyone. If my work is done. I'm going. If not I'll stay/come in early. Otherwise i'll live my life.

How is a root canal different to a filling? Am assuming it takes longer to fix.
More $$$?

Major work - involves the removal of nerves, a crown and depending on your cover can cost onwards of 2k

Root canal they have to crack open the tooth, remove all the damaged tissue inside, inject medicine, and plug it back up. Took me 4 visits. Not even finished yet since I need a crown.

Root canal is basically a last ditch effort to avoid losing the tooth since the decay has reached the nerves. Filling is for when the decay hasn't yet reached the nerves, to protect it from getting worse.

Holy ****ing hell. Had no idea it was mulitple visits.

Youve just inspired me to take better care of my teeth and not not visit the dentist

Ah yes, the "brown bag meeting." **** right off.

In the earlier days of the company, almost all the sales and customer reps and I would head off to lunch at "our" tables at a local cafe nearly every day. And once a month we'd have a BBQ out the back of the warehouse and we chipped in a gold coin to a good cause.

Then the company got big and we had a huge kitchen / lunchroom so that we didn't have to go out, the BBQs got replaced by external caterers coming in once a month and the size of your compulsory "donation" was noted by the apparatchiks on the door. I could never fathom the rationale behind trumpeting "we raised $850 for xxx" while the catering cost $2k.

Root canal is one of those things you don't wish on people you hate.

If someone swerves in front of me in traffic I'll (mostly by inner monologue) wish all manner of horrible shit upon them, but not a root canal.
