Doherty should be irrelevant when picking a side but Lyon is probably at number 3 for me equal with O'keefe. Behind Ahmed and Agar.
Forgetting a bloke called Mick Beer, who was keeping Agar out of the team?

I think the fact is, that him, Siddle and Henriques were the only ones to play both tests and he bowled better than him. You have a good point but doesn't detract from the fact that he was our best bowler.

I don't understand what point you are making? I'll have to read back over my comments. I'm sure I haven't mentioned any of the older bowlers at all. Pattinson is our best strike bowler.

Ffs Lyon bowl fricking slower.Stop bowling darts.

To be fair to Lyon, every time he tries to toss one up, the Indians smack him for a boundary, so he goes back into his shell and bowls darts to try to stop being smacked.

However, I would have thought that as a professional spinner, he would have accepted and understood that being smacked was part of the job description and if he could deceive a batsman in flight he might just take a wicket.

If his gonna get too scared of getting hit over the top if he tosses one up then he shouldn't be playing cricket.

Agar looks far better, but, that's just my opinion. Beer is actually a very similar bowler to Lyon.

Agar is very young, he hasn't been worked out yet by batsmen. He might not be but it's a bit early to make a big call on him.

He's good to watch bat and bowl and looks like an athlete. Which CA always like. His big plus seems to be his temperament.

Just realised that Dhawan has 110 runs from boundaries (26 fours and one six). Incredible knock, though I suspect he faces more challenging bowlers in the Ranji Trophy than he's playing at the moment.

He's batting on a home town road against an ordinary attack.

Great knock, but I'll reserve my judgement.
