Marnus is no longer a reliable bat. Honestly, Aus should've ripped the band aid off with him. If you're trialling Marsh as a pure bat, perfect chance to play him up the order & bring in an all-rounder. Marsh has been a better bat than Marnus for a while now...

Then play Inglis who is there as the reserve batsman, and we aren’t dropping Lab after one poor test this summer. It was terrible but he has a fantastic record in Adelaide and Marsh is barely a 6, why are we batting him higher anyway

Yup miss green dog

Nah. He will be alright but has a fair way to go with the bat before we can we missed him. His only real scores have been on good wickets. He wouldn't of made many runs in Perth.

Handy bowling but it's more needed overseas than Australia although the last test counters that argument but it was more a one off I think.

At worst he wouldn’t have dropped the soda Khawaja did and I’d be backing him over all out bats as he’s the most correct out of the lot

I can’t believe we are going to choose a half fit all rounder and not a fully fit all rounder.
Wtf is wrong with our selectors?

Btw it’s not 1 bad innings for labuschagne or one bad innings for our top order.
It continually fails.

He will get dropped before he gets to 20, goes on and makes a streaky 50 to keep his spot for the rest of the series.

Pure agony!

2nd Test discussion continues here.

Other than Head all the rest of the batsman are under pressure, Smith i think his technique is catching up to him.

Alex Carey: 32.8
Usman Khawaja: 30.6

The kiwis usually put on a good show albeit at tighter boutique venues. They ebb and flow of course in accordance to varying degrees depending on the might of the opponent but they will always turn out for Boxing Day and new years tests when they are on and support their side. Sri Lanka depending on venue and opponent will sometimes turn out, sometimes not. Galle gets crowds periodically

Hopefully if SA builds a good side again it might lead to a bit more support

The Big 3 no worries
NZ is close to the best place to go to watch Test Cricket but they’ve had a golden era that may be close to ending - small population causes many problems but mainly financial.

Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 & Pakistan 🇵🇰 are politically unstable and very dangerous for players safety hence we get few tours and matches played on the same grounds and the same pitches…

South Africa not much better.

The West Indies get further and further fragmented each day.

Long term its a worry

The Windies administration issues are actually improving slightly. It hasn’t led to anything especially tangible yet but a number of players have come back into the international fold as well as playing a little more domestic cricket.

It remains to be seen if it will make a difference but the utter disarray has seemingly been put behind us for the time being

This is your occasional reminder that South Africa are currently leading the WTC table, having finished third last time around.

A lot of problems over there but they can put it together when they have to.
Yeah, one win vs Pakistan books their spot

Feels like we toured South Africa a lot in the Graeme Smith era, have things gotten more unstable over there since then?
