Australia A vs India A (2 "Unofficial Tests")

Completely agree with this, his innings in Melbourne was underrated. His biggest failing for mine is that he gets through the first few overs, gets to 20 odd and then doesn’t go on. An old coach once told me something along the lines of “if you go out for a duck, that’s just bad luck, if you get out for 20 that’s bad cricket”
You would think if Head had not of been out because of covid Khawaja might not have got this opportunity to play test cricket again and Harris could have still been in the test side.He took the opportunity when there and well done to Khawja as Australian test cricket has been better off with him opening over the last 2 seasons.

The opportunity might be there for McSweeney still as a opener even though he failed yesterday as was a difficult wicket for all batsman. If Harris gets another 50 runs today you would think the selectors would select him for the 1st test but important McSweeney is at least in the 14 man squad, as in 12 months time even earlier we might need 2 new opening batsman to replace Warner and Khawja who is not getting runs in the shield so far this season.A interesting 3 days left in this Australia A grade game and wish there was more of them every season for the opportunity for our border line players to push their claims for a test spot.

As for during the test series no red ball cricket for the players on the border line of test cricket spots is a disgrace.

Some of the celebrations from the Indians have been bizarre given this is effectively a pre-season trial game.

Also **** the pricing. $13 for a concession ticket for what is essentially a Shield game is a joke.
Interesting to know the prices of food and drinks at the MCG for these games.Been to the Junction oval 3 times over the last 3 weeks and thought the prices were quite reasonable.

I’d say McSweeneys foot is firmly in the door, Harris would probably need a ton here. Still, adds a bit of interest.

Harris is a funny one, he probably just needed to go on with one of those 30 odd scores and he would’ve been much harder to dislodge. At the end of the day, he probably only has himself to blame.

Shithouse. And the cafe at Junction isn't what I'd call reasonable

Was $10 yesterday ……. + a $6 booking fee, which is pretty wild
Shield game is usually $5, $2.50 for concession. Apparently CA dictates the prices for Aus A games.

This would be considered a representative game for the Indians. It’s currently in the middle of the Ranji Trophy season, and perform well here and you will be next in line in case of injury or extra players needed.

Washi being in the current India side was a product of being a spinner and current batting form

It's interesting that in a "bat off" type of games they've spiced up the decks and made it hard for batting.

I guess in a way it makes the runs more weighted but it also means any ball could have their names on it.
Probably better really, if they can score runs here the step up shouldn’t be as bad

Harris is doing well to survive but the way he was playing yesterday was worrying. Very loose outside off.
