Love shoe, but he was always going to be vulnerable against the big fowards, Lake fit and firing can take them to the cleaners and dominate like in the past. I dont know why people are scared to play him, this guy can play...........................

I don't think , I know !!!!!! This bloke can play! We will see that , that's why he got recruited.
He's a proven AFL big bloke and defender, he can kick goals too if needed.
When he settles in, we have some comfort for the other guys in defence.
We can now patiently wait for Shoe to get back, which he will, his benefit was just coming to
fruition , its a year set back , but his character will see him return better. He's a Hawk.
Meanwhile we have an established footballer, Brian Lake, who wants to rebuild his career
and status, as a big defender. Every thing takes time , we are so bloody lucky to be still
scrounging 4 points and also realising SO EARLY that we have a hell of a lot of work to do
to bring the bacon home. Brian Lake is a dynamite get!!!!!

Anyone who watches games other then Hawthorn and keeps an eye on individual stars of the opposition knew that Lake was all class. You don't lose your ability overnight and his 2012 season at a woeful Bulldogs was very good. Will add something to our side that we haven't has since Croad retired...

The only question mark is will we manage his body right so we have him right to go come September!

I was interested to see how Lake went yesterday especially on Petrie as he has towelled him up big time at the g before. Good to see him go so well he is a great player and the better his opponnent the better he plays.
