Honestly, you still believe this? You really think the AFL wouldn't be looking at this with a microscope?

You're a fine troll for someone who says they aren't trolling.
If your Mods thought for a second that I was a troll, they would card me. I state openly who I am and that I am here by the invitation of the thread title. The only reason I have stuck around is that the Pies keep asking me for advice.

What double standards? Red Eddie makes himself a pretty hard target to miss. Not me who drove the outcry all by myself.
And you're not the only one who heard stuff. I heard that Figjam as coach is a dead man walking.
Given he had a huge hand in helping recruit Treloar, Adams, Aish, Howe and Varcoe, I seriously doubt that.

if your referring to TV's dad, he was at the club before he was even drafted - long time employee
Now if you would have 2 boxing trainers, that would be dodgy. So the answer is yes.

There is a nice melting thread on your board about how to dodge salary caps after losing out on PD and Treloar. First example was about Geelong and PD's family being employed by Costa.
(Of course we were 2nd).

I am sure you hear that about Bucks in your circles. We can smell your fear.

You're wrong, but thanks for sticking around to provide advice. You're clearly smarter than the rest of us.

So you paid overs for Treloar and you're crowing about it :drunk:
I don't think Collingwood paid "overs" for Adam Treloar. He isn't getting over $700,000, which isn't too much for a six year contract for a player of his ability. Using two first round draft picks, and receiving a second round in return was less than what Richmond were prepared to cough-up too.
When the season starts and Nathan's boys continue to slide down the ladder, you'll have the knives out and be singing a different tune.
I think it's quite realistically possible that Richmond, North Melbourne and Adelaide could make way for Collingwood, Geelong and Port Adelaide in next years top-8. It's my current prediction.
750k is too much.
Love to get him but hate to pay overs. Could throw a spanner in to player retention down the track.
In this post you said $750,000 is too much, but he isn't getting that much at Collingwood.

Take a few minutes to read the board and you you'll know what you said isn't true.

Sure you'll get a few supporters thinking we can win it every year, but the vast majority are well of where we need to make improvements to contend.

Contend is the key word here. We aren't interested in building a team that will just make finals.
A few minutes? At a rough guess, I'd say I've been following footy for a bit longer than you have and every year, the Pies are going to win the flag.
All right, we're interested in building a team that can make the finals. That has been a goal.
Now, we want to win one.
But that takes building. You can't expect to be born from position 12, fully-formed, as a GF winner.

Wouldn't say smarter than the rest of you. Many of you are much smarter than I'll ever be. It's just some of the bewildered posters need some guidance.

So your argument is based on your assumptions and perception then? Very well, at least we know where you're coming from.

Building a team to contend does take time. The problem for you guys is that adding Yarran won't be enough, you'll need further improvement from what you already have. Good luck with that.

You'd be amazed at our mods tolerance for opposition trolls.

If you're giving out advice, I'll ask this: What's the best way to deal with over 3 decades of disappointment? My little cousin is a Tigers supporter and he's struggling to come to terms with their everlasting mediocrity. I was hoping maybe a veteran could offer some help.

Well, what? Should I get my opinions and facts straight from the CFC website? More reliable source?
As far as our progress goes, we don't believe in one player being the messiah.
And, yes, we need a great deal of improvement. But not as much as the Pies do.

Tell him not to worry, next year.
We're pretty optimistic when you think about it. ;)

I've been around for five Tiger flags. That sustains me.

John is the ONLY boxing trainer, as well as if memory serves correct, he's the interchange steward on gameday
Interesting. Does he get paid extra for that gameday function that anyone can do? And why didn't he hook Cotchin in his legendary 9 poss game. Him out with a concussion rule and you would have won.
Pity we can't hire Kelsey to be steward(ess?). Half of the team wouldn't get of the bench, especially Taylor if rumours are correct ;)

No idea, and only took over as Choco wasnt able to be the steward this year
Fair enough. Don't worry about next year. We are in no need of TV, so don't go out of your way of creating new jobs for his dad.

Just read through some of this.. I've enjoyed your contribution:thumbsu:

Another dumbarse who talks about overpaying. U know grubby gale went back and offered more don't u? Idiots

What about the fabled Richmond "Warchest" they've been saving their pennies for the last few years?

Maybe Cotchy used the contents to purchase hair products?

No, but I suggested you have a read of this very forum, which you didn't seem too keen to do.

One player isn't a messiah, but will you be able to improve enough to contend?

The only way you can improve is via your existing players improving substantially or recruiting talent from outside the club.
The existing side has fallen at the same hurdle three years in a row. While you can expect some of your youngsters (ie. Lennon) to improve, others will regress.

When we were contending prior to our premiership we realised we would never go the extra step without making some substantial improvements to key positions. In our case it was a hard nosed inside midfielder and a ruckman.

Will recruiting a half back flanker be enough for Richmond?

Oh, yes. My original point was that there's no shame in making the finals three years running. (Rinse and repeat)

You are a bit of hypocrite aren't you Helen? No shame for the Tigers to make and fail in finals including being the first team to ever lose to ninth but refer to Pies finals failures.

You lost to 8th and 9th two of those years- yes 9th!! If you don't feel shame with that outcome then check your pulse. You wish your club only had the Colliwobbles.

You keep referring to 3 finals representations as some achievement but continue to ignore the fact that the Pies made 8 in a row and won a flag. Forget a flag you sound like you'd wet your pants if you made it again next year.

Why did you put an apostrophe in "magpie's" and not in "tigers"? There's also one missing from "Coles" and "grapes" and "whinges" (whingers)?
They all end in S, FFS.
But seriously, you're being silly now. We're well over Treloar now. Admitted earlier that we got taken for a ride but so did the Pies, probably. He played a game with us to drive up his price and you guys paid it.
Serious question.
How did KB get so convinced that Richmond had Treloar in the bag?
Surely he must have gotten his info from inside.
