Back to earth for Kelly? 21 or less disposals in 4 of his last 5 games.
This my number one query over him (feel he’s got a touch of the des headlands about him)and what Geelong fans fail to realise when talking realistic trade scenarios

Not his fault , granted ,but he just doesn’t have the body of work to justify what they’ll expect in a trade.

All the other guys he gets compared to in relation to trade value Shiel , treloar etc have/had a bigger body of work to gain a more accurate view of his true value.

As has been mentioned while Geelong perform poorly so does he.
Doesn’t make him a front runner or just a good ordinary footballer but it does bring down his value from elite mid of the comp to just very good.(which where I thought he sat originally.

At least it might finally get these ridiculous notions out of Geelong supporters that he’s worth 2 high first rd picks etc
The uncontacted part brings it down even further.
7-10 not much more

In general, why is it always this, or "he's carrying something", etc? Why can't it ever be "the bloke just isn't quite as good as hyped or advertised", or "he is still prone to down periods/inconsistency"?

Could well be.

But the heavy training loads also makes sense. Explains the entire team looking a tad flat and it does happen.(heavier training loads).

But really at AFL round 18 its more likely players are getting banged up and sore.

He will be an Eagle for our first and either our second or Sydney's second which we happen to hold. Barring Ross Lyon and the Hill brothers leaving at the end of the year (two massive issues he has with them that probably deserve their own threads), he wants nothing to do with Freo. Absolutely nothing. There will be some serious salt coming out of Geelong this trade period, especially after Freo offer them a much better deal than we do.

There is no way you get away with pick 16-18 and 24ish

Allen looks proficient in his highlights rather than dynamic..which say second tier to me.. Sometimes guys like that can turn it into a career.. Dickson at the Dogs is basically a very good kick at goal and just a good average player at everything else. I see on your website that Allen is being tried in the middle ..as a 193 mid.. that to me is trying to find a role for him. Perhaps it works. It worked at Geelong for the likes of Ling.. Does he have that type of gut running and toughness?

Im sure WC would be willing to look at 21 year old player that has failed to break into a good side.. but OOC at years end ..he may not even be on your list next year.
I assume you're looking at his draft highlights. Has been playing as a big bodied inside mid for the last 1.5 years - has great speed for a big bloke, a penetrating left boot and picks up good numbers. FWIW I would love for him to stay with us

Cant say I can find anything more recent... atpit he has little senior footy to judge on.. when do you feel he gets a game for wc?

IMO he already should have. Given that the inside of our midfield is a tough gig to come by, I Cannot believe we didn't reward him for his form and played Smith before him when Yeo was out - MAllen or Ah Chee are a much better like for like replacement. He has been our standout WAFL mid all season, and best performed WAFL Eagle besides Waterman. If one of our inside midfielders miss, next in line (in order) should be MAllen, Answerth, Brayshaw (Ah Chee is injured). All have their knocks though - Allen and Brayshaw for their conditioning, and Answerth for his build and kicking. However all three are genuine inside bulls, love the tough stuff and a tackle or 10. The thing about Allen is that he only converted from that kick, mark, goal key forward to the midfield in the last month of last season and his progression has been very rapid (joint winner of East Perth BnF) so I'm very excited about what he could become. Originally from SA, so I'm not sure if Geelong with an equally good midfield and no apparent family ties would interest him. Don't think he's signed on for next season yet

You do know there is a thing called salary cap?

So the eagles over the last 12 months have extended - Gaffs,NN,Shepoards,Yeos,McGoverns & Darlings contracts all would be on big dollars now.
On top that you've younger players coming up for contract extensions who'll be commanding more coin.

And you're going to be able to fit T.Kelly in too at 800k +

But Brad might not want to come to Geelong????
SEN reporting Geelong and St Kilda leading the race.

That might happen given the Hills are rumoured to be out of there and Freo have had a pretty underwhelming year.

Sounds like you’re trying to convince yourselves of these runours haha.

From all Journo reports, he’s open to Freo and has a pretty good relationship with Bell.

In the end, I think money will talk. He’s going to take the $$. Whoever that may be.

can freo fans tell me what has happened to adam cerra? he had some nice games last year but this year i havent seen him do anything
Doesn't have the tank to make more than sporadic impact in the midfield so is being played of the half-back and half-forward lines. Needs another pre-season.

I think there’s a good chance we don’t go Kelly. Highly likely he’s priced himself out of a move to us. Unless he’s willing to take less from us compared to Freo. He’s probably put $300k on his annual salary as a result of this season.

If the Hills and Lyon all leave Freo then that could be a game changer.

Frees up big $ along with Langdon also looking East.

Freo will be desperate to get some mature talent back in if so much walks out. Could easily front end a big contract.

Freo would be talking three steps back and one forward but they could contend before Kelly turns 30.
