Dangerfield, Adelaide nor Geelong went to Free Agency as Adelaide helped Dangerfield get home out of good will and compassion

Dangerfield could have left as a Free Agent. He decided to help out Adelaide by getting then something back from Geelong

According to the AFL's official website, the trade will see Dangerfield and pick 50 move to the Cats in exchange for Gore, Geelong's first-round pick nine and second-round pick 28.
Adelaide's head of football David Noble said the club was pleased to be able to trade for Dangerfield instead of allowing him to leave via free agency - a method that would have seen the Crows get far less in return.
"All along we were intent on doing what was in the best interests of our club, and we have been able to deliver the best possible outcome," Noble said.
"Securing picks nine and 28 allows us to add some more quality talent to our playing list, while Dean is a young man who has the makings of a long-term player.
"I would also like to acknowledge Geelong for the professional manner in which these negotiations were handled."

Of course we don't I just find it rich when you complain about Geelong fans having some supposed resentment from events 25+ years ago while baiting with that avatar. Like I say you will look pretty stupid if he doesn't end up at the eagles

I haven't even mentioned 92/94 and of course I'd look stupid if I have that avatar and he doesn't end up with the Eagles. I can deal with it, it's an internet forum, I browse and post whenever I feel like it during my spare time. It's not my job.

You should upload your avatar so I can also mock it then.

I still think the 92 94 grand finals are fueling the Geelong resentment of getting Kelly home to West Coast even though Ablett and Dangerfield got home and we had to listen to all the sob stories about both of them only naming Geelong

AFL and the AFLPA may need to get involved if Geelong try block this again when overs are offered after they got 2 players for unders that wanted to get to them for family reasons

TK named only West Coast
Dangerfield and Ablett named only Geelong

Its a bit embarrassing for them the way Wells and Scott have aired their frustration in public they have been the beneficiary of quite a few players requesting trades to them.

Adelaide helped out Dangerfield and Geelong

Dangerfield named Geelong not Victoria

Being the beneficiary of Ablett/Dangerfield with all the bleeding hearts having a cry

Then Tim Kelly wants to get his family home with kids with special needs and play for West Coast and it is apparently taboo

The guy put in a stellar year is uncontracted not so sure why there is so much fuss about it on Geelong pov players come and go all the time.

Hawthorn lost one of the greatest forwards of all time and proceded to win 2 flags immediately after its not the end of the world.

I can only think that they are still upset about 92 and 94

They got gifted Ablett and Dangerfield who named them only but are now deeply triggered that Tim Kelly named West Coast

We'll get it done. Watch us trade a couple picks (future and current) for a pick 8 or 9, and then offer pick 8/9 and 14. I suspect this will be enough.

That's basically taking ourselves out of the next two drafts + the kitchen sink + a partridge in a pear tree. Way way way overs. Did you want to give them the shit out of our aholes as well?

Of course but things can change. Mitch Clark was going to Freo until he signed with Melbourne. If Kelly sees that west coast aren't going to be able to get a deal done with Geelong he may bite the bullet and listen to a Freo offer, especially if Fyfe or someone gets in his ear.

Would West coast be willing to trade someone out to move up from 24 to a mid first round pick? If not and they're adament they will only offer a 1st and a 2nd it seems like they're wanting to have their cake and eat it too
Mate, if Fyfe gets in his ear he definitely won’t be choosing Freo. I doubt it’s his dream to spend 5 seasons blocking players so Fyfe can win a third Brownlow.

I wish TK and his family all the best, first and foremost.

He and/or his manager have done themselves absolutely zero favours in how they have handled this, for the second time running. They are clearly trying to play the sympathy card when bringing up his disabled children (hopefully correct terminology here) and leverage a trade.

Seems a fairly logical and reasonable thing, that with multiple children and no family in Victoria, that he would want to return to Perth. No issues with that at all... By specifically nominating West Coast (again), it shits all over that narrative because it says "I want to get to West Coast" rather than I just need to be home in Perth. You cannot have it both ways.

Ok, the bloke is out of contract and wants to leave, that's fine. It happens. Save us the tripe about his reasons though, because the motives are pretty clear on this one.

Umm do you have the same criticism of Tom Papley, why are you only mentioning one name for?

What is interesting is how over rated draft picks actually are. We are being offered at best 2 kids who are the 10-20th best kids their age, who each have about a 10% chance turn out to be as good as Tim Kelly is.

Factor in Geelong rarely uses 1st rounders very well anyway and does very well later in the draft it's amusing all this focus on top 10 picks.

What was the last 1st rounder that came good drafted by Geelong?

And the double hypocritical standards continue...a fair few of your lot didn't mind doing the same to the Crows with dangerfield in a geelong jumper before the trade for him was complete.
What is it with the thin skinned brigade over there, weak as ....
