No one of note surely if they need to clear $1.5mill of cap space?

Clubs can trade players with salary paid externally for quite reasonable deals.

If GWS have three first round picks it could turn a small time trade into a higher value one if that club pays part or all of the salary for them to play at GWS.

Example: Lobb moving to GWS to a 3x $500,000 a year deal. Freo pay $250,000 a year of it. GWS trade a first for him.

Yeah. I reckon Kingsley will take a year to assess what players he has at his disposal and how they all play when actually played in their correct positions so I can't see them trading much in. That's another reason why I think they'll push for a few of their picks received to be future picks.
Put's them in a great spot next year with no cap stress for once and a clear view as to what's required.

This first season under a new coach would be a free hit too so losing mature talent resulting in a poor season won't be taken as poorly as a club like WC.

I agree with you, Richmond need to inject an elite midfielder into their rotation because currently Prestia, Cotchin and Martin combine for 1.5 players worth of impact.

I think it's in Melbourne and any anti-Freo's interest for Taranto to cost Richmond their first this year and next with a second coming back.

If Taranto as a top three draft pick and club B&F winner goes for just one first round pick in the early teens (assuming North get a pick) then Jackson won't be worth much more than him.
Ok yep, understand, misread your reply as sarcasm. Will be a great get, I don't get into the trade price speculation as who the hell knows!

Now that hopper is involved I reckon 12 plus 19 and soldo for Taranto and hopper.

Seems a bit light for both.

Don't think GWS would be after Soldo. He's almost identical to Preuss.

Issue would be finding players who are both desirable to GWS and willing to take fairly low salaries (given GWS's cap issues).

If it's for Taranto and Hopper I would have to say this years 1st, next years first and player like Ralphsmith that is cheap but gives GWS that outside run.
Think Ralphsmith is the best we'd get from you as well, Gibcus being untouchable and Maurice probably the same. Although a mid first each for TT and Hopper is probably a bit light even with the steak knives

I think as a general comment, there are probably a few bargains for be had from players drafted just before Covid hit, especially in the better teams (like Richmond) from 20/21. Kids who missed a lot of development due to VFL being shut down and the general disconnect in 2020 especially. A fresh start could do them the world of good.

A few of those might be worth a second chance. I doubt they'd have a great deal of trade value, but could be some really worthwhile steak knives.

Agree, and their coach will know our kids intimately.

Think someone like RCD fits that bill perfectly.

That’s just what I’m hearing. Preuss hasn’t really set the world on fire and Kingsley has the relationship with soldo.

They need a top tier ruck. Soldo is what they already have. Its basically paying people to play neafl if they do that
