News Time for the Vic teams to leave Victoria - EDIT: Hawks to Hub in Barossa, 15 teams in QLD

This is a bit of a nothing article and basically just says negotiations have still been ongoing, nowhere does it say Vic teams can’t come into the state, it just says they would have to observe quarantine. It also doesn’t say anything about what that quarantine would entail and whether that means teams could play each other during quarantine. Absolutely no new info gained from reading that.

Stephen Wade just told SEN there will be no SA hub.

Is their any talks about Eagles/Freo/Port/Adelaide getting compensation from the AFL for lost crowd revenue this week?

Surely Eagles need a 2 mill payout this week for the lost 30 000 ticket sales for playing Sydney as a home game?

a court case, just what we need. And aren’t the majority of those tickets already paid for in season tickets? Would be three way compo

Interesting that the SA premier didn't want a hub, when in all honesty the players are probably the most tested and protected people in Australia. Seems like playing politics from the outside looking in.

It’s becoming clear the AFL has far more issues dealing with state governments than supposedly reluctant Victorian players

We dont have a 2020 membership ticket. We need to buy every ticket from Ticketmaster for each game this year when the games are announced..........

Why would you expect it to work any other way

‘OK I probably know as little about WA as w a posters know about the cv situation here in victoria

States are doing the right thing telling Vic clubs to gagf with coming over. They’re protecting the majority. Unfortunately though that stance detrimentally impacts non Vic clubs. No one knew 4 weeks ago that Vic would spiral out of control. That said, any proposal to maintain this season which places all the heavy lifting on interstate clubs to do all the traveling is a $hit end of the deal for them and they have every right to explore compensatory avenues.

The WA teams wouldn't be able to play anyone in WA in that circumstance

‘I’m reading into the announcement delay by the afl that they are calling some states bluff. There’s a point beyond where the teams simply get excluded.
If there’s further delay, the more this is being pursued

as an axample the AFL could easily complete the season in qld and nsw, and the other teams ( WA, SA ) could come if they were able to comply

it would be tremendous for the game in NRL heartland

My read on it is that they are expecting a few months of whatever they move to, so they are locking down the entire rest of the fixture

great idea, just tell the Vic teams sorry, too hard and all the non Vic teams can get on with it

Wonder if there will be criticism from the board's resident conservatives over Premier Marshall's decision.

Why? Protecting his State from the terrible decisions of the Socialist Republic of Victoria. I am for leaving politics out of this, but if any administration has failed miserably it is the Victorian Labor Government.

‘the AFL put all personnel into permanent lockdown with frequent testing in case of further outbreaks. Did the states govts agree to that? We don’t know. If they did nd are now going populist, it’s not a good look from them (although voters seem to be lapping it up)

In all honesty he should be leading the way not shirking responsibility. S.A government needs to set a example for Victoria to follow. not run away from the issues they are having.
