Having now listened to the interview, I'd say there is absolutely nothing in Harper's dismissal of Rowe's question about some mythical contractual difficulty. He treated the question with the contempt it deserved. Nothing to see there.

However, I will agree that the implication of his "we won't get another Kurt Tippett for Kurt Tippett" comment was that we won't get true value in a player trade. Mind you, that doesn't preclude us from trading for multiple items (player + pick?) that together sum to Tippett's value.

All in all he mostly just sounded grumpy. I've spoken to Phil before and he's not normally as grumpy and as short as he was in that interview. Sounds like he's had a gutful of things and just wants to get the trade period over and done with and move on to 2013.

On an unrelated point, really pleased to hear Harper give Nick Poulos a big plug. I reckon he's far more important than he has been given credit for.

God damn it Sydney! Rohan and 22 is a bargain for Tippett just give us that and we can all move on with our lives....... or other Trades.......

Rohan is the outside mid with pace the club was after and we'll probably only use pick 19 and 22 anyway with our 3rd pick we'll upgrade Callinan.

Just end this God Damn Saga!!!

Yep. Whilst it was Sando who introduced the new ferocious contested ball style game plan, I'd say it was largely this man who was responsible for getting the boys into the shape required to play it.

Anyone know if josh kennedy is going back to melb?

Definately contracted with Sydney next year, a supporter on RWO asked the man himself at a club function and wont be going anywhere. Beyond next year i dont know but something would need to change between now and the end of next year for him to leave.

Players rarely sign one year extentions especially if if they hold currency and are in demand. So for that reason i think its fair to assume he had extended his contract by at least 2 years meaning he will be at Sydney for at least 2 more years.

For those saying it is only day 4 of the trade period it's more like day 254 since this saga started and people are getting sick of hearing his name. Put an end to it so we can concentrate on more pleasant end of footy season pursuits!!

Looking at that video of the break, Rohan would have to be a risk - might be a risk worth taking though, as long as we get pick 22 as well.

I would expect a deal to be completed by the end of week 2.

When we met Sydney at the start to work out 'the process' we would have (or should have) told them we have a deadline of the end of week 2, and if they can't do a fair deal by then we will use the last week to negotiate with Brisbane.

We should have also told Brisbane and $kirt that is our strategy - to keep Brisbane in the loop and to hope $kirt puts some pressure on Sydney to get a deal done.

Exactly Boffo, I think we should all have a bex and lie down. Sydney want $kirt and Sydney know that there not the only option, that actually gives us a bit of leverage. Also Skirts worth is at a high at the moment so it's the best time to sell.
Rohan maybe worth the risk I think, I feel a good vibe for him.

Do you believe everyone involved with footy tells the truth? Or do they tell white lies if it stops damage?

No one is arguing that their is a party line that gets played out into the public however I am with BACCS to the point that people have servely over reacted to Harper's interviewing

IMO People seem to be interpreting the information based on a fear of being screws instead of listening to what is being said

The club knew about the Sydney rumours 4 weeks before it was announced to the public, so I doubt they went into this period with no idea who or what picks to target from Sydney.

The exact comment was 4 weeks before he told the club. Rumours of a Sydney link were in the public about 7/8 weeks ago (according to rowe... and i have a tweet about it that fits timeframe).
Harper said him leaving was always on the cards but they were really surprised when he told them Sydney... (or was it when they heard Sydney rumour)

JPK isn't going anywhere. I think the chances of someone like Rohan being part of the trade are more likely. I'm not going to pretend I have any idea but as an outsider looking in JPK is almost the least likely to be traded.

I have no fear of being a screw or any other form of hardware.....

Cooking utensils on the other hand....

22 + rohan was ruled out at this stage...

Faith they have ruled out premership players, Rohan, Mitchell who is left of any value?

I know they may buckle but our position in the media is certainly not putting any pressure on Sydney.

Surely we have to go to mediation if Sydney don't give us something of equal value.

The fact caddy, wellingham, and even Tom lee to a certain extent have all got top 10-20 picks indicates that fair value for Kurt is two first round draft picks 1 1-10 and another 10-15 range.

For me it's always been the equivalent of two picks: one in the six to twelve range and another in the fifteen to twenty range.

I'm sorry, these same people have held these perceptions for at least three years. It matters not what the club does or doesn't do, they never stand a chance.

Actually thats rubbish. You've repeatedly accused people of having irrational reservations about events and when the concerns that the people have turn out to be well founded you post some crap about being an optimist and therefore superior.

I looked through 7 pages for that "insight"... was it the fact that he has thrown up the fact that Adelaide is interested in Mitchell, Reid, Rohan, Jetta or Parker that got you over the line?

faith has a couple of years worth of credit built up. been on the money more often than not.

Point out where I've EVER said I was superior? I have said I prefer to look at the world from my perspective (obviously) because I end up not being as stressed and angered by things that haven't happened yet. Sure I might get peeved if things eventuate but I haven't wasted all that energy in the lead up. I don't know about you, but feeling negative about everything is just a crap way to live. You have to wonder why they bother supporting a Club they clearly have no respect for? The negative nellies, on the other hand, prefer to see the bad in ALL situations and are constantly negative, hating, derogatory - and if their beliefs happen to be correct - CONTINUE to be negative, hating, derogatory - and supercilious added in for good measure!
