Pattinson starting to look the part.
very talented bowler. off the three that get talked up - himself, hazlewood, starc - i would definately rate him as the best prospect.

there's not much you can really take out of a one day tour game on a road.

gotta get pattinson playing more four day cricket but i don't think they wanna burn him out.

All getting spanked.

He does look the part though, economical action. Go well in the longer forms of the game. Similar to Stuart Clark, not as suited to the shorter forms,

Except Clark has an excellent One Day and T20 record, particularly internationally.

Clarks one-day bowling seems to have improved with age, post test career, whereas his first class form has gone the opposite direction. Never thought Clark was all that good a one day bowler however, wouldnt have had him in my first XI in that era (although looking at it now his records isnt that bad, average of 27.86 and economy rate of 4.84,not great but not errible by any means).

Certain bowlers are definately suited to the longer form rather than the shorter form of the game. In the Aust team Siddle and Hilfenhaus (although hilf in the longer form now very debateable) are much better first class/test bowlers than one day bowlers, Siddle in particular is a rubbish one day bowler. McKay seems to do better in One day cricket than the longer form (although pretty harsh to only give him one test, looked our best in the 'A' game a couple of months back).

I was bagging the test umpires for not calling no-balls, maybe i should just shut up and let the third umpire do it. DC might have to bowl from behind the stumps not to get called.

yeah pretty poor.

surely though if you bowl two no balls in a row, then you get two free hits from the next two legal deliveries...

cause if you bowl a no ball on the third ball, then the next one is free hit, then the next ball is no ball, then you get a free hit... you've had four balls where you couldn't get out. but if you bowl two in a row then the batsmen only has three balls where he can't get out....

in any case the free hit after a no ball is a stupid rule. i wouldn't mind it being in place for wides.... i'm more concerned about quick bowlers who NEVER bowl no balls. nothing wrong with a no ball every 10 to 15 overs. obviously if your bowling one an over that's a problem.

Copeland's second lot of 3 overs were alot better.

Never get these blokes out the way they catch.
yep much much better.

khawaja and ferguson have dropped simple chances. and then ferguson had a rather strange fumble this last over from christian.

this will be an intersting over from copeland. hasn't looked too comfortable when they have gone after him.

Hughes, Khawaja, Marsh, Ferguson, Maddinson. None of them can bloody field. Smith is the only fringe guy that can (+ White, McDonald and George Bailey who ironically are always overlooked).

What the hell has been going on at the centre of excellence?

Ferguson is usually a very competent fielder, not sure what went on with that dropped catch. Maddinson looked horrendous last night though, that is for sure.
