Am I wrong when I look at Lipinski and see what Bianco will become in 2-3 years?

Steady by foot and hand, not overly-gifted with pace, decent vision.

I'm not opposed, but he doesn't look like he'd fill a list hole for us.

I definitely see your train of thought. The key difference for me is Lipinski is more of a known quantity whereas Bianco, despite the encouraging signs in 2021, is still speculative and a lot smaller body.

I doubt it. Our back 7 is rock solid so no chance he gets a gig there and he’s a poor forward so I’m sticking with Ginnivan/ Johnson/ McReery/ Henry. Also does anyone else find it amusing that people quote the three speculative talls that have worked to support chasing that type as opposed to the vast majority that don’t? Over the past decade we’ve had Richmond, McNamara, Tohill, McCarthy, White, Frost, Keeffe, Wyatt, Marsh, Hartley and Gault come and go yet it’s the hits that get mentioned

All the more reason to bring in more talls. Hawks and GWS have done this well... plenty of late picks and cheap traded KPP at those clubs. They recognise that additional KPPs are needed because the strike rate is low compared to other positions

What’s more we have Roughead and Madgen down back... Father Time will catch up with the former and the later is merely a battler.

And a glaring need for further tall options up front as we are screwed depth wise if Cameron and or Mihocek goes down

Kelly, McMahon, Johnson, Keane, Beeg... I certainly wouldn’t be resting on our laurels with that bunch. Fair chance that none of them play more than 50 games for the club

No it’s all the more reason to not bring in speculative talls. We need to start investing more draft assets in talls at the pointy end of the draft and not clubs sloppy seconds or guys that might make it in 5 years time.

What that means is you target one of Krueger, Weideman, Riccardi, Schlensog etc. and if you want another tall you work toward getting a top 25 pick in this draft post a Daicos bid.

Much bigger body than Bianco at 190cm. Maybe one off half back, one in the midfield? The real list hole for us though if we're going to push for finals in 3-4 years time is the 21-25 year old bracket and Lipinski fits into that nicely, if everything else checks out with him.

Maybe; but that was before McRae came in. It wouldn't surprise me if he advocated holding on to him (based on their history).

Will be a good early test for McRae - is he ruthless? Let’s wait and see.

I would not be swapping a tall for a small. Would want a little bit extra. Get some late picks for Daicos points.

If Lipinksi comes to us, it likely means Dylan Stephens does not.

If it's only one mid we're bringing in, Stephens is the one we need to grab if possible - he's the one with the most chance to explode and reach his potential (pick 5) - IMO

At the time we brought in Beams, offering 2+ first rounders for the potential of Trac would have been the way to go
(not a hindsight call)

Out of curiosity, how would people feel, if on draft night, we were to trade our future first in order to draft Gibcus or Amiss?
I'd only do it if they were confident next years top crop there wasnt any top talls.

Most of the highlights were other players but featured Lipinski.

Hows next years draft pool looking?? would all depend on the talent ... i would like to see us go to the draft with our first round next year though.

Let’s see
I wonder if Treloar would give a good rapport about the club to him

IIRC Treloar has no issues with the players, coach, etc and has a lot of love for the club and even coaches. He did have issues with how the list management team tried to "manage" him over in the 2019 and 2020 off-seasons but he's shrugged that off now?

when he was asked , he immediately deferred to GW about Cox
I think it's pretty obvious he's been replaced by Cameron

Yes, that didn't sound to positive for big Coxy. McRae, said when asked about Cox, was something that they will look at regarding his contract status, and will do what's best for the club...

It’s a no from me. Amiss has only played at Colts level so I’m not investing that type of draft capital into him. I’m more confident on Gibcus, but it’s too hard a sell after trading out our 2021 1st and with the Vic kids effectively having lost the final two years of their jnr career. WBU?
