Scodog10 thought you’d like that one!

I almost bit! Keep going sr36 he’s 29 on ANZAC day. Like Horace said don’t point the finger at him the hate should be directed at the guys that kept playing him. It was so bloody frustrating to see him running around in a down year…

He was even more bullish on us last year. Kelly, Browns, Sier etc we’re all to break out. I think he is over enthusiastic about a list he was involved in
More strategic comments. Mick used to do the same thing. “This list should win a flag next year”. Protects their legacy, and Puts pressure on the club and coaching staff, as pay back for letting them go. Raises fan expectation and club officials on a hiding to nothing.

except that everyone else will have us bottom 4 again, so he deserves to be exposed…

I’ve edited your post and I’m wondering if you can name the player? I’ll give you a clue they wouldn’t even get you some magic beans at the trade table. That’s not to say Lipinski isn’t worth more or less than Lynch I just think the points you made to support your argument weren’t strong.

FWIW I think Vandenberg is worth a rookie spot. They rate him off the charts and he’s only been let go because of his injuries. A break in case of emergency alternative for when Adams gets injured to shield McInnes is something we need to consider.

Vandenberg might help with shielding the kids and being an example-setter on the training track and likely make our best 22 a bit stronger, but our rookie list is pretty tight at the moment.

To be frank as distasteful as this feels when typing it out I'd almost rather us whatever we will be next year and possibly securing that potential top 6 pick, rather than trying to bring in too many pieces to push a bit further up the ladder (out of what, pride?, I don't know) and ending up more in no man's land 3-5 picks further back in the order.

If we're going to be off the pace then let's be off the pace and treat the season as another one of development, get more games and development into the kids, bank those two additional draft picks inside the top 25 year year and then look to push further up the ladder when logically the kids should be in a better position to do so.

We're going to have to take three picks at this draft, which is something to factor.

Daicos, Dib and X.

Not overly concerned because at the end of the night you could take Billy Bloggs from the SANFL or wherever and he's really good but had no interest due to the AFL's obsession with 18 year olds vs. state league talent.

Depending on who we keep we'll need to make at least one promotion from the rookie list, so the minimum number of picks for us may only be two, not three.

We'll add either Noble, Keane or both to the senior list, so may only need to be Daicos and Dib.

Our player development has been woeful for quite a few years now. It didn't help having a head coach with a thick skull. A lot of what Rendell said has made sense. Sometimes I think it's our supporters who are salty, not Rendell. Not having a go at you specificly, just in general

The Brown bros, Kelly and Sier don't exactly inspire you with confidence though.

Rendell is a crackpot - SEN only hire him because he puts controversial sh*t out there.

He also has North playing finals next year for the record, and that ain't happening.

The cherry on top was saying Adams (a $700k inside midfielder) should be a small forward when we have *no* other in-and-under contested ball midfielders - give me a break...

1000% this.

Take anything he says with a grain of salt.

He's just there for clickbait, nothing else.

I just love the way he think's outside the box, but he is a bit of an enthusiast

I quite like him too. He says some interesting stuff. A bit too obsessed with the big over the top attention grabbing statement though. He can put that away, as not only can it be painful, it's also what gets him into trouble.

Comparing Sier and Lapinski is laughable. Sier has stagnated for 3 years and cannot get a game before Browns, Rantall, and Bianca.
Yes comparing two 23 year old midfielders who are both 2nd round picks and have 5/6 years in the system is laughable.

No similarity between them at all.

Trade radio keep banging on about Moore and Degoey commanding 1mill and can we afford them with Grundy. Why are we the only club being discussed in this regard? Plenty of the best teams have better players. If Moore and Degoey want that kind of coin see ya lata, you buy in or ship off. 0 flags between them..

I wonder if there is any way of getting Charlie Camerons brother, wants out of WC
Maybe not IF it’s a want to go home factor. A lot of indigenous don’t seem to come back if they get that want to go home feel. Aka Liam Jurrah, Mosquito, Cyril Rioli (be it a good playing career before he hung up the boots) and fairly sure the list would be more than that. But as naturally talented as most of them are, the big smoke seems too much for them in the end and the comforts of home is too great.

It's an odd situation being played out with Dunstan whereby we have a player not wanted by his club but one who received 11 Brownlow votes in 2021 which was the second most of any Saint (and the equal of any Collingwood player).

As I said. Odd.
If there is a spot for him, why wouldn't we take him. We need to get the pill out of the stoppages.
