Well it helped a lot getting back the ones we got back ...........but Murf, Wallis and Red aren't nothing - and Suckling ? Just saying there was bad luck on both sides.Don't you think though that our injury problems were sorted out by the time we got round to the Prelim? I think we had a bad run during the season but by the time the finals came round we were only really missing Murphy,Wallis and Redpath and we can't be sure Red would have held his place anyway. I thought that being back to near full strength played a huge part in us winning both flags.
Gws are going off at the afl for cutting their salary cap next year which resulted in so many kids leaving
Chris Dawes as a DFA anyone? Put the Collingwood premiership forward line back together?
No thanks. A total potato. Let someone else get enticed by him.Chris Dawes as a DFA anyone? Put the Collingwood premiership forward line back together?

I'm ok with no Delideo. The challenge with these mature recycled players is they block the young fellas from games and then they p*ss off.
I still think Motlop would have been a great fit for us, just the way we move the ball. That last Cats final Motlop had a massive hit early on and was obviously shaken up imoI know:
1. We were very confident Hurley was coming. Still burns......
2. We were red hot on Motlop and vice versa until the finals came and went. We were prepared to give up our first rounder for him prior to that.
3. Vardy was keen, as we were, until 1) we won the flag 2) Nic Nat and Lycett both went down and 3) campbell unexpectedly re-signed.
4. Adams never requested, nor pursued a trade. He was honest with the club in that he was struggling a bit in melbourne, and that if it suited the club to trade him this off-season, he was cool with it. We leaked it to the media for our own purposes.
Think Igloo is bang on the money re the Tigers player that wanted to come, but that we rejected.
I got no Intel at all on the Deledio stuff.
Them working together is a good point. It's another example how a lot of supporters from all clubs think you have to trade and forget the big picture. Taking two picks inside the top 30 is a big win meaning McCartneys done a very good job.
if it works for us, tehThe way Quayle paints it, Bev was not interested in Deledio until GWS showed an interest, and then we tried to get him to keep him out of their hands.
Thats probably the first ive heard of some team going for a player in such a strategic manner - to deny a specific other team, rather than to address an issue in their own team.
How do we feel about that?
if it works for us great. it is a very tough competition. any advantage we can get, great and pursue it.The way Quayle paints it, Bev was not interested in Deledio until GWS showed an interest, and then we tried to get him to keep him out of their hands.

don't think he would - it's not like we've come out of nowhere to be a really good, young side. that we won the premiership wouldn't fill him with any regret imoI wonder if Hurley now regrets not signing with us, as he re-signed with Essendon before finals.

Sounds like to me that we dodged a few bullets there. Even if we didn't mean too. Delidio still got me stumped why we'd entertain him. I'm not sure if Cloke can regain his form, but he's exactly the typeI know:
