So what did they see in him to take him at pick 28 or whatever it was in the first place?

IIIRC DVR was rated as about a 25-50 range in phantoms
Exactly the same thing we saw in Christian Howard: a beautiful kick in an open field.

I don't get a whole lot right with juniors but he was one I never understood the fascination with. I was expecting him to fall to the rookie draft. They messed up that draft to an incredible extent: Boekhorst at 19, Viojo at 28, Clem Smith at 60, Jayden Foster at 63 and Tutt in the PSD, then Gowers, Walsh, Fields and Russell in the rookie draft. Every single one of them gone only two seasons later.

Did Boekhorst get chopped also?

Williamstown never developed KPPs for us

Our KPPs as a whole have significantly improved since Footscray was introduced
Its a odd opinion but reckon if dogs had their own vfl side, alot more players would have developed better.
Not saying they would still be on our list but players like Hooper, Panos, Skinner, Hill etc would have been suited for a role instead of thrown around

Gowers and Walsh weren't bad rookie selections, and Gowers is still a chance to be re-rookied. He's a decent prospect, I reckon he still has a slight shot of getting into the first team. Needs to get more midfield time; isn't being developed well enough off half-back.

Jayden Foster delisted today from blues? Any chance of a rookie lifeline?

Just love the romance of it TBH
Doubt it but i would throw him a VFL Life line alongside Dojo-Rainbow and play them in their actually roles.

I've just been thinking about delistings, and I'd like to bring Hugh Beasley up again. Just look at his attributes:
191cm, 86kg
2.86sec 20m sprint
Very good one-on-one
Can play on medium forwards and genuine KPFs

Sound familiar? I reckon he'd be a good mature-age rookie option to replace Hamling. A really good option. Victorian too. Was harshly delisted by Brisbane after the season, injury issues have kept him out of the AFL team. Was rated highly by Brisbane posters.

Guys who have played their entire career as a forward don't suddenly become reliable quality backs....its the hardest position to learn.

I highly doubt Cloke would be able to make the transition.
Unless their name is Chris Grant.

I do like his name, although I know he isn't actually related to Simon.

Agree mate was very stiff to be delisted.
