if there is a 2nd trade period whoooo could we target, any key defenders out there maybe young unknown ones
 
Also we had a good midfield this year and last however they spent alot of effort sharing ruck contests and playing off the opposition. In 2021 we have a great midfield and they will have the ball Palmer down into their lap

Now We have massive midfield depth and a bigger Ruckman who can hold his own, id be playing Dunks and Bont a heap more inside Forward 50... Especially Bont... He will be a massive threat down there..
 
sackofballs or anyone any chance of a best of Sam Power compilation? I recall the last match before they took down that stand at the G he kicked a goal and came up to the crowd and grabbed his jumper like Hunter did this year in his comeback game .... or is my memory :drunk::drunk:

Knowing that we asked for 8 and next year's first is absolutely delightful. It's the exact kind of outlandish demand you would expect from Dodoro himself. The entire AFL media were quick to jump on the Dogs for "softening their stance," but no one anticipated how incredibly limited the scope was for us to be open to "different scenarios."

That's brilliant thank you! I think I was right about the jumper grab in R22 2002 v the Pies. I love it when players do that and have a vivid - ish memory of it. Maybe the camera cut off him just before he did it.

Maybe in future dodo should find out how much a player would cost before getting them to nominate

Loved some of those highlights SOB. Showed some of what we saw tonight over this trade period. Courage, making something out of nothing, picking the crumbs off the pack and kicking goals. Go Sammy Power
 
This thread from about 5:30pm to11pm deserves elevation to legendary status.

I was otherwise occupied and didn't know what had happened so I followed it (slightly delayed) through your posts.

The tension. The classic Bulldog pessimism. The fatalism. The outrage. The humour. The resignation. The tightening sphincters. Then the unfolding drama. The happiness when we didn't fold to Dodo, along with an "oh well Treloar would have been nice" acceptance of second best. And then the outright astonished glee when it was announced that we'd secured a heavily-subsidised Adz AND enhanced our draft points hand. The selfless sacrifice of the bold few who ventured onto the Bombers board. And finally the elevation of Sam Power into the pantheon of BullGods.

Well played everyone. Better than a game day thread. A memorable night.

Goals for Power and Beveridge now are to ensure we tie Bont and Baz down for as long as possible. Disillusioning Smith due to lack of midfield opportunities is my absolute worst nightmare.
 
Haven't posted on here in a minute, but i can happily say that even after '16 I could not be more proud of my club. To finally stick it right up the big clubs and dig our heels in shows we aren't going to be pushed over and we will stand up for what we believe in.

I would take a first rounder and future first for Dunkley, but it seems like Dodoro will not budge, which I am very happy with.

I would then have Hunter of the back flank in playing a sweeper role that he has done in the past, and then have Baz and Treloar on the wing rotations just to fit everyone in. I would initially have Libba, Dunks and Macrae on the ball with Bont up forward as well.

All those Essendon fans can sit on it and rotate, I cannot even put it in words how satisfied I am to see them get reamed.
 
Whilst, I truly despise Dodoro, Essendon have not actually stuffed up. They look silly and have disappointed their supporters and unsettled Dunks.

Collingwood's trade period, on the other hand, is an inexplicable disaster. I can't help but suspect they have breached their salary cap and have been leaned on to correct it immediately. Or they have been forced to promise De Goey some huge contract. It just doesn't make sense.
Even these speculations are ridiculous. Can anyone make sense of it?
 
Dunkley would be absolutely filthy with the Bombers and Dodoro.

They came to him and offered “the world”, but when time came to pay-up for the trade they refused to meet the asking price.

Shows how much they truly wanted him!!!

I would also say that any players approached by the Bombers in the future will think twice before being wooed...

Zero trust, and their reputation remains in the gutter.
