A poster on here who has had good info before mentioned we are miles apart in terms of dollars.

I wonder if the dogs thinking was we are not going to re-sign all or top players this season, who can best afford to lose and what is there likely trade value. We offer what we can but it is likely not to be accepted and came up with Dunks.

I don't know all the details about Lachie this year but if you put the pieces together

I can totally understand why he wouldn't give too fruits about footy this year and want to focus on himself and family

Narkle from the cats maybe an option for a small pressure forward and pitch hit in the midfield only got one year contract last season.

I want the 2019 Dunkley back..

I actually think he was in better, more damaging form earlier this year with much more goals, goal assists & score involvements plus was using the ball much better but from less touches.

It’s hard to get a read on Dunks form in his current variety of roles , would not surprise me at all to see him go somewhere play 100% midfield and avg 40 touches across the year and win a Brownlow - I really can’t tell how good he is and how important he is to us, I think I’d prefer to keep him though unless we’re getting big overs, which I don’t think we will

We aren't getting that unless you're comfortable with Libba, Smith & Treloar playing minimal midfield minutes. Libba was out of the side, Baz wasn't playing midfield and Treloar was at the Pies. Those numbers were produced when he was playing 100% midfield in combination with Bont & Macrae. Our mids were demolishing teams at the back end of 2019.

Dunks can barely get in there even with Baz out and Treloar at half back 😂

As they should be, we really should be absolutely wiping teams with our talent in there it’s concerning that we’re not.

Honestly it’s pretty crazy, our 2nd string midfield of Baz, Treloar, Dunks is better than probably more than half of the leagues top 3. Throw in Bont, Macrae and Libba and I just can’t see why we don’t have an advantage on every single team in there.

Melbournes comparable on top end with Oliver, Petracca and Viney but our depth wipes them, our top end and depth wipes both Geelong, Brisbane. Carlton competes with the top end but again our depth wipes them. Freo similar.

What’s the problem here? On paper it’s a perfectly balanced grouping with class, grunt, speed, Bont and Macrae are two of the best defensive mids in the game when it comes to the top 10 in the league (who usually like to run only one way) and are as good as you get with ball in hand. Dunks and Libba are as good as it gets for inside ball winning ability and Adzy and Baz are as good as it gets for outside ball carrying ability.

We shouldn’t just be beating teams up but completely dismantling them and not even giving them a sniff in game - honestly what’s the issue? Cos I’ve got no idea tbh

The Age are reporting that Ben McKay is one of the players who were considering their future at North if Noble was to stay on.

Can’t link from phone unfortunately….

Shame they didn’t keep Noble for one more year then

And it would take all the pressure off him.And teach him to commit his body to the contest. He can always return to the forward line. But for now He can't be worse than the other defenders presently..
I thought he should have been swapped with Hannan at 3/4 time last weekend, of only it meant he got close to Buddy and learned a thing or two. The game was over by then anyway and we had to try something.

Please can Dunkley choose any club over Essendon to want to play for....

They’ll end up with similar problems. Having to fit in Parish, Dunkley, Caldwell, Merrett, Shiel and Hobbs in there and allocating sufficient midfield minutes. It is a tough task.

Pretty good. Freo would need much more though. They’d want a 1st just for Logue.
Our third this year will be around the mid 40s. That plus perhaps pick 13 next year would be sufficient, or at least a pretty good starting point i'd have thought. Not really any players they'd pursue from us. Unless we gave them our second and they gave us their third perhaps.
So future first and 2022 second rounder for Logue, Lobb and Freo's third rounder. In any case, the Essendon part of that deal i'd be happy with.
