Surely they wouldn’t be offering more than us though, unless it’s your standard Geelong under the table deal. Just can’t see them stumping up anywhere near what it would cost for Timmy!
They've offered same as us and alot less then the Eagles did.
Thier books aren't looking to bad after a few retirements this year.

300k p/a over 5 years.

...and a nice little acreage on the Bellarine.

Doesn't get better than that!

It’s very against how Geelong usually spend though, considering it’s likely gonna have to be a mammoth contract.

They do say they have a policy or culture where player are on similar pay structure and this provides evenness across the playing group but who knows.

Would make it my life’s mission to bring down Timmy if he left for the same money to move an hour down the road, after what we’ve put into developing him! That would be the campaigneriest campaigner move a campaigner could campaigner

I do know that other clubs are well aware of issues at the Kennel and opposition clubs are seeking out our players.

This I do know as I know a person who works in an opposition clubs recruit area
I also think it's very important to point out that just because teams are coming for these guys (English, B.Smith, Williams, Treloar & Sweet) doesn't mean they will leave.
Coaching changes or management changes, living arrangements (English and the now non existent WA connection), other departures opening potential game time (Sweet) and simply deciding against starting again.
Normally I wouldn't share everything I hear at this time of year because alot just doesn't get across the line however I think with everything else that is also happening it's important to get a full picture.

the other aspect to this situation is how it affects any rival player we may have targeted.
You would think some might have some trepidation coming to the dogs ?

Essendon have managed to consistently recruit players despite being a revolving door, having had half their players suspended for cheating and being a career graveyard for anyone looking for success.

I don’t think players are concerned about a lot of this stuff as one might think. If the deal is right I think it can often be done.

Our list is in a far better spot than the cats. Cameron, Hawkins, Duncan, Danger and Guthrie soon gone

But they still manage to beat us year in year out regardless what their list looks like

I feel like Bailey Smith would flourish in that run and gun numbers around the ball system under McRae, plus Bailey's off field status would get a massive surge.

If we are getting a new coach hopefully he can retain him with a new gameplan.

Is it definitely Geelong after English? I would have thought Richmond might have come calling.
Wouldn’t have thought Richmond have much need with Nank and Soldo plus young Ryan developing. And after the Hopper/Taranto deals surely they don’t go doubling down on trading early picks.

Vic teams I could imagine are
Pies - replace Cox, pair with Cameron
Essendon pair with Draper? Seems less likely
Geelong would make sense
North need a ruck
Saints have wanted a Marshall partner for a while, maybe that’s changed under Ross
