I wonder if there was anyone left who really wanted him to stay? In the four walls and supporter based.

I think it’s gonna pass Stringer level of hate game our first game.
Stinger let himself down by not fulfilling his potential.

Smith has shown utter contempt for the club.

Couldn’t find the post again re us booing smith. Watch us get them at shithole park and gather round

Have also been told today the dogs 100% asked for SDK to be involved in any deal for Smith with a straight swap suggested. Whilst De Koning was open to the idea the cats refused outright.
Cats don't need to like it if SDK is open to it and we want him. We should be absolutely trying to convince him it's the best option for him.

If we could pull it off would be a great FORK YOU and might discourage them from trying to poach from us in future

Geelong's List Manager:

"What? (shock face) You want one of our young guns while we're poaching one of yours? (pulls out multi page document) Allow us to brief you on Cats Entitlement...(smug face)".

Issue is he is contracted for another year. Carlton and Pies are also very keen on him but more next year when he is out of contract.
I think for us, like with our interest in Rayner we either go a year early or miss out to a "bigger" club.

Agreed.

I hope the club blows this up to the point where it becomes the most likely, and most viable, option.

Time to become the big club we ought to be.

Interesting that we’d ask the question. Would that be the best use of Baz as a resource for us? He’s obviously an asset but someone who probably thinks they’re starting next season would go down the pecking order.

Losing a pacey mid in exchange for another tall would just be odd at this stage - But I suppose this could be us trying to replicate the Barrass idea. Same questions remain though.

The hatred towards Bailey Smith is forced and embarrassing.
I mean, yeah it is, but... Go watch his latest Instagram video and tell me you don't feel second hand embarrassment...

...Yikes.

Was he sitting at the Geelong table last night?

Asking for a friend who doesn't care about players who choose to leave.

He assumed it was a casual walk-in event/venue, so just rocked up, sans top, ended up sitting on Danger's lap.
They asked Dillon's wife about him, and she's "been told" deal is done, for a late first and early second. 😉😆

Almost a disaster last night just quietly, apparently there were votes for B.Smith (Western Bulldogs). Luckily spotted before being read out, crossed out and replaced... with P.Cripps (Carlton).
First time ever apparently a player has polled in a game his team didn't even play in.

SDK is a very good full back with a decade or more left in him. He and Buss with JOD or Croft would set us up.

Smith has shown utter contempt for the club.

Twice now he’s posted thirst traps whenever the attention is off him and on the club (after the r24 win) or the AFL (Brownlow night). Last night’s bulge video was such blatant attention grabbing.

When he first came along he was a good kid. Smart, well spoken, seemed pretty humble. He’s changed a lot and for the worse.

That Bailey Smith video is pretty funny. Considering he probably did all of that punching and jumping in the pool for ten seconds just for the video.

I was well against using the Smith trade assets on Barrass but SDK is completely different. Whilst Barrass would improve us short term he doesn't set us up post Jones or Lobb. While SDK is an upgrade on Khamis and JOD he will also be able to take over from the senior guys as soon as they leave.
I highly doubt we could actually pry him out but it's a good thing we are asking the question of players of his quality rather then scraps they'd chuck in as steak knives.
At the moment he is only open to a move and not actively trying to get out, if he indicates he will leave next year when he is uncontracted should they block a trade this year then obviously it becomes a more realistic move.
