This is one argument.

Another is that the club is obviously not doing enough to help these players.

The club has lost a number of young players who would be important to the future and another who is a possibility. Dunkley alluded to issues when he left.

Surely it's not all a coincidence.

I'm not saying it's Beveridge or any one reason because I don't know ... but it is an issue that the club in general needs to get better at.
Dunkley did allude to the issues and one of those was one you are saying we got unders for yet he is no longer on that clubs list either

No that is your opinion. What evidence do you have to suggest otherwise when Foxman presented a list that actually reflected a small percentage of players from other clubs with the same issue

I don't care about other clubs.

It's been written about many times that something isn't quite right at the dogs. Dunkley said as much as well.

It would be my opinion if I stated what I think it is but I expressly said I don't know just like I don't know the JUH situation so I am not going to speculate the finer details.

If you don't think there is any issue then that is fine but I'm allowed to think that there is.

"Where there is smoke there is fire" or don't you believe in that because you don't want to think there are some issues here ... must all be the players right?

So every journalist is biased now?

Granted some of them post abolute garbage and it's easy to spot. They are not all biased, that is a sweeping statement.

You just don't want to believe that there looks to be some issues. In your opinion, it's just the club is not doing enough due diligence before the draft. Nothing else.

Power will sit on the Club’s executive team and oversee all aspects of the men’s football program, while continuing to have an active role in contracts, TPP and the Club’s list strategy.
Sorry I misread it, I thought the new head recruiter will manage player movement and Power would contracts.

Simply I am not on the inside to definitely say we are not supporting or putting enough in to support the 2% of players over the last decade we have had issues with.

In nearly all cases with us and other clubs it is the players who cannot cope with the professional environment and this manifests itself in many ways.

Us like all clubs need to be continuously improving in all aspects, but to definitively say there is an issue with a cliche about smoke is a nonsense.

Interesting ... because you believe the in the knows on most things but when they say or agree that the club goes the too hard basket too often you don't agree.

BulldogMuscle has also alluded to this and i would suggest he's on the money with most things.

Can you show me the post where Bulldog Muscle said or even alluded to we were not doing enough to support Stringer, Hunter, Daulhouse, Smith or JUH

I'm not going to search for the direct post. You can ask him yourself.

Thats an interesting post, which players that have left under these circumstances have been great at their new clubs exactly?

When it comes to troubled players let's just accept that the club will keep players on the list if their off field issues are worth their on field performances, those that aren't worth it are traded and we get what we get for them.

So far, none of those that have left have burned us, and none of those that we've kept have burned us - in fact one of them was our captain in round one.

Also people are genuinely delusional if they think young men in their late teens and early 20s who suddenly have a lot of time and disposable income aren't susceptible to things previously not considered

Dunkley snagged a second premiership with Brisbane and was an important contributor in the 2024 GF, 21 disposals, 8 marks, 11 tackles, 4 clearances,

From the outside it seems that the AFLPA is dead against transfer without player approval and the AFL feels a fight with the union is not worth it. The player nominates one club and the home club is disadvantaged. With Free Agents the AFL says it has expertise is assessing the value of the player. As a minimum when a player wants to move not as a free agent the AFL should provide a similar assessment of player value and that establishes a base level of trade value at least. I would prefer the AFL requires a player to nominate more than one club but don’t see this as possible given the AFLPA
