My definition of a list clogger is someone that doesn't contribute consistantly to the benefit of the football club. e.g Welsh

Someone that does not bring something to the table now, or someone that cannot bring something to the future of the EFC

Yaco.. when I say negative, he basically puts our list in the bottom four. He doesn't seem to believe there are many A graders in the list (which I agree with).

If you read his notes JUST the player assessments.. (the rest fits into other threads) then there are more "nopes" than "yes" in there..

but feel free to ask anthony anytime about the state of our list.. he is pretty scathing

I know that he can be scathing off our list - but at the same time he said the club could get to 5th or 6th place if things fall into the place.

It appears to be a bit contradictory - but who am I to argue !

I agree with everything here Rines.

We have to many average ball users who are weak links in our side at the moment.

Last year was suppose to be a weak draft...

Look how that turned out to be.

Can you show us or even PM me Ant555's assesment of our list, be interested to see his assesment.

Ant last of all, totally agree that poor recruiting and poor development has well and truly let us down, hence our poor results in the past few years. We need to rebuild from here, and this is to cut our ties, even with a 'decent player worth something' who is not going to be apart of our next premiership side, we need to get some decent draft picks, and use them wisely (pointing the finger fair and squarely at our recruiting department).

I agree, we seem to have a plethora of talls at the moment, we could trade one of them and get something decent out of them..

The people digging claws into Atkinson..

People are suggesting on this forum that Atkinson should come into the side this week... And they get flamed for suggesting or sticking up for our little man. he is selected this week, what are you all going to do? boo him? i have never seen such hate for one player... Now for all you haters name 3 players at the club other then dempsey who takes the game on whose selected this week.

our list despite our spin is actually pretty poor. Atkinson should be a regular starter imo, easily in the best 22. dempsey to play forward/wing.

dont get me wrong i like watching our slow boring crap and like being belted by 65 points week in week out... *sarcasm*.. atleast get the risk taking bombers back if we are going to lose by 65 points.

Absolutely with you. Actually, I'm pretty shocked at the larger sentiment from Essendon supporters in the past few weeks across the board. Nobody is safe at Essendon right now, and it's a damning indictment on the club as a whole.

I want Essendon to do as well as they possibly can.

Therefore I want Essendon players, whoever they may be, to do well.

I just don't think Atkinson is capable of doing as well as other players.

There are things I could say, but I wont.

I question his call up because:

1. His reported VFL form hasn't been exceptional
2. Does he really deserve it ahead of others?

Atkinson isn't one of your best footballers, people have forgotten some of the performances he has put in. Yes there have been some good ones, but there have been some shocking ones.

We're here to win football. I question Atkinson's ability to help us do so. Is there anything wrong with that?

I actually don't mind Atkinson. He has made a few mistakes, but the good things he has done out weighs the bad.

Mind you, I'm nervous whenever I see him streaming up field and looking for options.

It's his last year to prove himself and if he earnt it in the VFL then I don't mind but Prismall didn't earn jack shit.

Many will know I'm not a big fan and don't think he's in our best side.

But he's brave (take the game on brave, not J Brown brave) and in a team lacking with confidence, we're going to need that to be a chance.

I think he's a very smart selection this week.

What matches has he won? At any level?

He was good against Hawthorn in Rd 22 last year however.

Slattery should have come in ahead of him and I am an Atkinson fan. Slattery was so impressive against Collingwood last week in Bendigo's win.

Best 22 or not.

For some reason i like him. Sure, defensively he is not so great but i believe his attacking side is great. Has great speed, strength and athleticism. I don't know why i like him, as i feel we need more genuine tough nuts, but for me he just seems to show something.

Maybe he is like a poor man's Lovett? To be honest i think even though he is not as good at breaking the lines, i feel he is more defensive.

I know i am in the minority but i am not afraid to admit i like the guy.
