Im sorry... who was the inclusion for Broughten?
Headland. yes.
I'd be surprised if he takes up Broughten's role, where as dropping DeBoer for him would have made much more sense.
Hence, my statement.

yer firstly its broughton not broughten.

and secondly with broughton being dropped mcpharlin will now go back into the defence, not headland.

deboer is in the side to shut down an opposition player atm as crowley is injured, so i dont think headland would that job would he.

hey guys, just wondering which is a better option trading krakouer and looking at:

>GIA + 66.8k

OR
> JBrown + 12.3k

or is there some better option im not seeing??

thanks for any advice...

Had my plan sorted with Hill > Broughton this week. Now I don't think I can make that trade, Ah just unsure of what to do now.

Haha a mate in one of my leagues just did S.Wiggins and J.Riewoldt > L.Jetta and T.Varcoe.

Just how healthy do people think Grimes will be? Thinking Houlihan > Grimes now...

Guys what are your thoughts on just bringing in Broughtan anyway. Surely he cant be out for long and may even come in this week as a late replacement. He would be replacing Suban on the bench, so unless one of my backmens is a late withdrawal it wont matter if i get him this week or next. However given that he might come in and play his 3rd game, i dont want to miss out before he skyrockets in price.

So my trades this week are:

Suban > Broughtan
M.Brown > Sidey
+ $202,100

Next week
Beams > anyone $382,100

Leaving me with 7 trades left. But basically will complete my team.

Thoughts?

If it completes your team then I think you should pull the trigger..... Anyway, I had no clue what trades to do in my messy backline until now, I spotted a couple of trades that could work but I want to see what people thought..... My backline is:

Enright
Chornes
Adcock
Gilbert
Goddard
Hill
Houlihan

Suban
Petstinko

Currently I have about 35k remaining.... Whats peoples thoughts on the trades:
Hill>Grimes
Houlihan>Lockyer

Will leave me with 11 trades left... and i dont want to get Mackie because I have Enright, Stevie J and Bartel from Geelong... thoughts?

The two trades I have done will make/break my season

Hill > Grimes
Beams > Sidebottom

Frees up 169,100 with 13 trades left. Current Team:

B: Cornes, Adcock, Scotland, Suban, Petrenko, Grimes (Hodge, Houlihan)
C: Ablett, K Cornes, Selwood, Judd, Gibbs, Rich (Sidebottom, Anthony)
R: Cox, Kreuzer (Spencer, Jacobs)
F: Deledio, Franklin, B Johnson, Gianciracusa, Pavlich, Higgins, Warren (M Brown, Ballantyne)

Will be playing with 20 men on the park this week but so will my opponent unless she does a trade which means she'll have 1 man advantage but meh, i should win.

Yeah trade in Muston, before he is even named in the team let alone played a game :thumbsu:

Erm... checked out the Round 9 team sheets yet, buddy?

Hawthorn

B: Brendan Whitecross, Thomas Murphy, Brent Guerra
HB: Beau Dowler, Campbell Brown, Grant Birchall
C: Jordan Lewis, Sam Mitchell, Beau Muston
HF: Mark Williams, Lance Franklin, Michael Osborne
F: Cyril Rioli, Jarryd Roughead, Garry Moss
Foll: Simon Taylor, Brad Sewell, Chance Bateman
I/C (from): Robert Campbell, Stuart Dew, Ben McGlynn, Jarryd Morton, Brent Renouf, Cameron Stokes, Travis Tuck

In: Muston, Renouf, Stokes
Out: -

New: Beau Muston (Murray U18)

Also, the reason i'm looking to trade in another bench player this round in place of Barham is because he along with Beams isn't named, so i'm left with no emergency backups in the midfield if Tuck is omitted - which i can see happening. Besides, i can't see Barham making his way back into the team for some time as Thomas, Didak, Medhurst are all expected to return from injury in the coming weeks.

If i wasn't facing a potential 0 in the mids i'd take a 'wait and see' approach with Muston, but having no other bench cover this round makes me quite vulnerable.

Why would you trade out a playing Hill and leave in the starting 22 a non-playing Petrenko?

For me its all about the money now, I want to ready myself for next weeks trades by freeing up some money and I think i can beat my opponent with the current list i have - a gamble no doubt but high risk high reward IMO

I know i've asked this question before...but...

Fevola has a massive BE of 177...
Krak's BE is 117, not a score totally unrealistic.
I could lose a lot more money trading Krak to Gia rather than Fevola to Gia. So i'll ask again,

Krakeour for Gia or Fevola for Gia?

Are you going to keep one of them for the rest of the year and trade the other out?
Are you eventually going to trade both out?

If you answered yes to the second question then trade out Fevola.
If the first question, keep the one who you think will score the most points Krak v Fev.

This weeks dumbest trade of the week goes to me according to big footy but im in favour of it
Skippy to Ben Ross
Cheney to Grimes (Cheney will get dropped im pretty sure if you look at melbournes bench)
Will use both players as keepers in 7th forward and defender if they both keep their spots

Next Week
Walker to Wright/Austin
Tuck to Kane Cornes

Then i will only need to upgrade on of beams/sheldon/cockie and my team will be complete... :D

With the possibility of facing two donuts in the backline with petstinko and broughts covering houlihan and podge, I am unsure whether to keep the pontential keeper or trade him out to avoid 1 of the zeros.

was planning on doing
Hill -> Grimes
MBrown -> Sidebottom

then use that cash for the mids next week and hope hoops would be back next week.

Long term says i shouldnt trade out hoops and just cop the zeros but i dearly want to keep my 16 match winning streak in tact.

Jason Davenport- Same price, played two games and named to play...less risky but will only give you around 50-60 at most and may get dropped, up to you though

If i can should I:

MBrown>Sidebottom

Monfries>Pav

Will leave me with nearly nothing in the bank, but I'd be bringing in the best possible option.

My opinion is that at this stage Sidebottom appears to be the best bet to be a backup rookie for the remaining 14 rounds.

I think he needs to come in!

However M Brown does provide quite good job security as is pumping out 50's most weeks.

Overall i like the trades!

Broughton out affects my trades

This week is pretty much a lock now - barring changes tomorrow

Petrenko -> Grimes
Krakouer -> ROK

Should leave me about $55k to upgrade Houlihan next week if he isn't named. Now need a good downgrade target in the mids - am looking at anthony and swift. Swift is racking em up in the wafl each week - so surprised he isn't getting a game.

Hopefully Broughy comes in as a late inclusion..

Decided to trade for the longer term and get rid of Hill and Krak for Grimes and Sidey even though i may cop a zero this week.

Next week will be looking to upgrade Otten to a gun, then Rich to Kornes the week after.

What do people think about the long term team-inlusion possibilities of these players?

- Ben Warren
- Mitch Brown
- Nahas
- Hill
- Sidebottom

I have the first four, and am thinking about keeping some for 'definite' cover for late in the game. I think Mitch Brown will play for pretty much most of this season, he is versatile and Woosha has shown faith in him, but i'm not sure about Hill, Warren, and Nahas.

Also, i'm thinking about getting Sidebottom, but i don't wanna get him now and then have him be ommited 2 weeks later.

Sidey is a pretty safe option. Won't get dropped anytime soon.

Warren - Should play quite a few more games, gets named on the team and not on the bench, plays alright.
Mitch Brown- Quite safe I think
Nahas - Probably the safest of the lot considering how bad Rich's forward line is and his recent form.
Hill - Is up and down, I would think he will play most weeks but will probably miss a few as well.
Sidebottom - Not that safe if Coll get all their players back (if that happens). Hasnt shown that much in first 2 weeks imo but is a high draft pick and Malthouse seems to like him
