Pretty sure my mate knows Hogans oldies.....WC fans from memory.:thumbsu:
Thought Hogan was a Freo supporter - remember seeing a pic of him in Freo gear.
Also saw a photo of him in a freo scarf. This photo shws that he certainly wasnt an eagles fan.

Tho if freo land McCarthy, they might not have enough in the cap, plus they have no one good enough to trade.

With you on that - our first pick will be interesting as late 20's (about where we will land post academy bits) is where I see there being a drop in quality. Lovell is solid but if lined up with Nelson Jackson from last year's draft, I would probably go Nelson. If we are talking a mid at our first pick, I like Partington, Fiorini, Cole, Cunningham, etc ahead of Lovell and they should be around our pick. I believe we may well go tall on our second pick provided either of Glass-McCasker or Skinner are there. Then I would happily go Lovell for our third but the draft is pretty even at the third round and looks like most other year's 3rd/4th rounds in terms of depth.

Starting to like the idea of snaring both Mason Shaw and Darcy Cameron as rookies. Hopefully another club picks Colledge to save us the salary cap and allow another pick. If we get Shaw, no need for Tunbridge. Waterman is a given.
I think you're both wrong, Lovell will surprise a lot of people IMO and end up being a bloody good AFL player.

Amazing that in that entire list, there is only one player from WA.

That is incredibly low representation for a footy state?

That Matthew Kennedy seems like a real clever bloke. Hilarious.

massive overhaul needed in the system. hopefully better/more representation next year
No overhaul required, there were plenty last year and the previous years to that, just a weaker group this season. It happens.

It could also be that events transpire to limit the profile and development (years 15-17) of some, suggesting that the general demographic is unchanged. If so there are some bargains to be had.

I watches 3 of the U 18 games and the better players on whole were under agers hence I suggest this is a fair representation of the top players.

From the team, 2016 Draft Cohort should deliver more top end talent.

Would rather have Dunkley or Himmelberg over Rioli.
Dunkley wants to be in Vic - that's why they are expecting him to reject f/s with Syd. If Freo don't try and grab Himmelberg (instead of Cole) the pick before us they are idiots. So I'd rather take Cole at our first if we can but won't be upset if we grab Rioli. Especially if Cuningham slides to our second. I'd be happy with Cole/Rioli + Cuningham

Happy with the first 2 choices but not with Clark as our last pick.
I don't mind Clark, probably prefer Mountford myself (both might end up in the rookie draft) but if Skinner is available at our third surely we'd consider him instead (ie that versatile tall Vozzo said we might take).

Would love to take a punt on this guy as a small forward in the rookie draft

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti:

Better known as 'Tippa' around the club, the Tiwi local joined Essendon VFL in 2013 after impressing for the Gippsland Power in the TAC Cup. Tippa is an excitement machine, with his speed, strength and tenacity on the field sure to be a highlight of the game. After missing out on the draft last year, Tippa will surely be grateful for another chance to prove himself at the AFL level.

“It’s a great reward for all the hard work that he has put in over the past couple of years.”

Whether Dunkley wants to stay in Vic or not, I believe he's the better prospect and it shouldn't bother us, especially at effectively pick 30. Also, I believe he'll reject the F/S because Swans are loaded with IM's with youngsters and will be adding Mills in this draft too, so Dunkley would have to sit 2 years minimum to even get a sniff.
