"It no longer exists."

Of the more recently talked about players..

:thumbsu:
David Cunningham - Like this pick. With Ryan Clarke, Oliver and Hibberd likely gone i think he'd be a good pickup. Has a good base to work with and could really become a player with the attributes and skills he has. Has pace. But it could possibly be the Ash Smith kind. Reminds me of Weller.

Alex Morgan - A fan. Wouldn't mind him with our 2nd. Looks a lot like Butler but with a slightly bigger bag of tricks. Doesn't really possess any stand out traits or attributes but his skills look good, as does his composure and smarts.

Luke Partington - Would make a great WAFL player.

Kieran Lovell - Tough, runs hard and has a crack but i can't look past his kicking skills or obvious lack of height and versatility.

Rioli - Meh

Totally unrelated to the draft but have it on good authority we have been speaking to Hogan/his manager along with the Dorkers. Still has two years to run on contract, is homesick and put off any contract extensions. At this point in time he will be returning to WA, things can obviously change but Melbourne would have to improve quickly I reckon to turn his thinking around.

As notified before, The eagles are interested in form a port player mason shaw and darcy Cameron. I know Mason Shaw has potential and my port mates used rave about him for the last two seasons. Like them i was super surprised they delisted him and kept John "can't kick a set shot" Butcher. Wouldn't mind him on the rookie and develop him into forward/ruckmen in the mould of kurt tippet/josh jenkins. Can a claremont fan or someone who watches WAFL regularly fill me in on Darcy Cameron. All i know is that his 204cm ruckmen and is a north Albany product and is considered a late bloomer. He could turn out to be Sinclair 2.0 and he is a few years younger than when sincs was drafted.

Ah yep. Thing to bear in mind with the ones you watched is that they aren't necessarily highlights they're just shots of every time they get the ball, so their bad kicks are included too etc. If Im not mistaken they are compiled by Skippos and he did the same thing last year.

The way he does it can be good but if you go into it expecting highlights you will be disappointed haha. FWIW, I watched a bunch of highlights last night and IMO Cole's comparatively seemed more like those of a top 15 prospect when compared to others around that range. Seems a really good mix of inside and out.
Yeah I understand they're not highlights, and they're unfair on players who don't perform well in that one particular match, but similarly select highlights can make players look much better than they are. I don't think I said anything about it being a highlights video in my OP did I?

McGovern + Darling + Hogan.

How do teams stop that?

Hogan will be a perfect replacement for Kennedy in 2 years. Darling and McGovern will be starting to hit their prime.

Melbourne can have Tom Lamb in return.

you do realise we will have to lose a big name/young gun for hogan. they will most likley want duggan and might persuade him. Or we might lose a shuey or gaff for him.

Hogan could be a top 5 player in the league in a few years.will be worth more than any 1 player on our list.if we can get him we should

It's gonna have to be Duggan for Hogan.

Dat heartbreak :(

Gaff was a die hard Melbourne supporter growing up. The guy is the best wingmen in the comp and is on the verge of being elite. He could potentially be part of the trade. Tho he has stated he loves the club and wants to be a one club player. Gaffy is my favourite player and i would be devastated to lose him.

I would hate to lose any eagles players but shuey would be better player to trade cause at the end of 2017, he will be 27 and would have 4-5 years left in him. While Gaff would have 6-7 years and Duggan 10-11 years.

Lovell has a lovely kick from his highlights package, plus can drift forward and kick a goal or pick up possessions across half back.

What the the hell are you talking about

True. No you didn't but I wondered if you were aware it wasn't meant to be a highlights video. Cause if you did, they would have been especially disappointing haha.

I might have to check out his actual highlights video. He's a decent size. Good kick on him.

Cunningham and Morgan are my #1 and #2 picks also. I'd prefer Cuningham over Clarke even if both were available mainly because I think Cuningham needs more development whereas Clarke is well rounded and ready to play but probably wouldn't displace our existing midfielders so might get frustrated. Lovell is a bit the same imo, really impressive but he's ready to play and not sure we have a spot for him in the next couple of years. Whereas Morgan needs more development and would play off half back primarily but has the speed and talent to push as an outside mid as well. Cole is an even better (HBF) prospect but probably won't last until our 2nd.

Bit harsh on Partington, he is more than capable of playing AFL but perhaps not for us with our current list. Rioli seems a bit too inconsistent for us to be looking at him seriously, also not sure of his 'flair' would fit the WCE culture (we came 2nd because we played as a team, and not a bunch of stars). That's also why I like Mountford for our 3rd because (a) he is a solid all rounder midfielder; (b) he is a team player and no doubt would have a preference to play for WCE; and (c) he will likely still be pickable at our 3rd pick.

So I generally agree with you :)
